That looks quite smart -

Or check your local Lidl to see if they've still got some of the Dual turntables in stock that I mentioned further up. £99 for a new version of the 505 looks like a good deal.

I’d save a bit longer. £150 gets you into Rega territory.

Not sure if this is allowed but I've got a Technics tuner for sale if anyone wants it?

You think it'll buff out?

If anyone can pick up in Beckenham, I've got a dac converter (Arcam Delta Box) that I'm happy to let go for a forum donation. I was using it using the optical output I think, until deciding it wasn't bringing anything to the party (underperformance of my hearing probably)

Weird question on audio, can I put a dragonfly between my xbox controller and my headphones to change the EQ? Turn down my teammates voice and up the gaming volume?

Know the feeling. My daughter tore off the entire tone arm when she was 18 months or so.

parents could never have nice things...
This. All my records were in the attic for 5-6 years. Currently in the short window of time where the kids don't ruin stuff on purpose that much and before they hit puberty and have wild house parties on the sly.

My previous set up, haven’t unpacked any of it since I moved house to Italy.
We had a lovely dedicated cinema room of about 5x3, our first attempt ever tbh. Klipsch 5.1 / Onkyo AMP / NAS for streaming or the good old Netflix.
All the wiring behind the walls, banana plug connectors in the wall. Really enjoyed that space.

Ouch.
ncsb:
I broke the cartridge on my parents turntable when I was 6 and had figured out how to play our records ("All Aboard" mostly). I said nothing but it was discovered and I got shouted at.
Skip ahead 36 years... I have to stand on a stool to reach my turntables on a high shelf. Inconvenient but as yet untouched by my nearly 7yo.
Unintended benefit is they're the perfect height to rest our pico-pix on to make a cheapo home cinema setup.

I've got a contact for someone in Jutland who can help you out with repair / a new one. I can pm you the details if you want?

Does anyone have a large collection of records for decent prices? Been checking out discogs but was wondering whether anyone local had any...

Nice! What does it do?
Plugged to your CD player (which then solely acts as a mechanic, providing you have the adequate output on it), it covers the digital signal into analogue for you pre-amp. I think you need quite a good system (and good ears) to appreciate the benefits, if any (depending on your system)

Something has gone wrong with Fip Radio.
The jazz channel has become my default setting, but for some reason all channels are playing out the main channel, despite having a playlist showing something different.
Anyone know what's going on?
If this continues, I'll have to go back to choosing records myself.

Hi all. Does anyone have any experience of using a DAC like the Cambridge Audio Dacmagic to upgrade their streaming? My CDs are in the loft, turntable is not an option, so I want my streaming to be as good as possible without splurging on a network streaming deck. I’m using chromecast audio which is surprisingly good but I guess the built in DAC on a £30 piece of kit could be improved upon. Just wondered if the sonic improvements are worthwhile? Cheers.

what bit rate does the chromecast audio use?
and what is the rest of the system?
this will have a bearing on whether it's worth fiddling about with dac.
You could also consider a brand new pro-ject primary e for £160. I've not seen one myself but they are supposed to be ok.
