take the Christmas decorations down
Look again; they are down.
It reads HoHoHo at Christmas and OhOhOh the rest of the year.

So how do they sound?
Bloody brilliant.
At first listen I was underwhelmed, not immediately transported to a hitherto unknown audiophile wonderland.
Then I moved them in a bit and turned them in quite a lot more than my old B & Ws. Now they are amazing. Wide and open soundstage, do used imaging, detailed and musical. The bass is a less big than it was before but is much better defined.
Listening to live recordings is breathtaking.
I don't really have much exposure, but it is probably the best hi fi I've ever listened to.
Chuffed.

Very nice. That didn't take long! Glad you got front ported speakers. Looking at positioning you could even experiment with setting them a bit further back to stop little mashton knocking them over.
Yeah, I'd rather they were in a darker wood. But what're you gonna do?
You could wrap them. Pretty easy to do and some great finishes available. Just remember to take the drivers and tweeters out if you're using alcohol to clean/prep them or using a heat gun.

Oh no. I meant they look like metal horns in a good way.

Treated myself to a pair of these a couple of weeks ago and picked them up yesterday.
They still need to loosen up a bit but they sound amazing. So much detail, so much comfort & they block out everything else; in the office, on the tube etc. Well worth the money.
I love my NC headphones but sometimes it's nice not to have a giant headset on. These completely disappear.

Wait ‘til you get some real amps up them!

I’m WFH today (!) so this little piggy has its hand up the Tannoys’ skirt for the first time.
It looks like it was just pulled out of Tutankhamen’s tomb, the phono stage is down on one side and I think a think an output valve needs replacing.
It sounds ace though!

Nice glow!
Watch out that it doesn't set fire to the carpet.

I really should turn it off and clean it up but it is too much fun.
It’s a little powerhouse!

Anything else I should be looking for similar to a Technics SL1300/1400/1600/1700? Some degree of auto-stop is a must.

SL7 or 10? I love mine.

Sounds great. :)

They are good. We plugged my valve amp into them this morning. Deceptive for such tiny drivers.

Oh. Tell me more about this. Got a pair of Monitor Audios that are a little faded on the outside surface.

Typically used for wrapping kitchen cupboards and the like.

Hmm. Gets pretty pricey fast.
And with the potential to fuck up a DIY job up I'll have to to pass on that I'm afraid.

Does anyone know what the first symbol is for on my TV?
I'm going to try and set up my old amp and speakers with the chromecast audio and also wanted to try and include the TV, which I've just discovered has a whole load of hidden inputs in the bottom.
(I'm looking for an output to run the sound back into the amp and out the speakers.)

Aerial input?
Edit: Or audio out. Is it 3.5mm mini plug size?
-
• #5773
It looks very small for aerial.
Just to clarify this one:
