  • Before I order one from China, has anyone got a TPA3116 or similar for sells?

  • I have a B&W T7; fantastic sound and battery lasts for ages.

  • Thanks all, because of the time difference and late night research I ordered something already. oops
Went with the UE Megaboom - maybe not the highest fidelity but it's meant to be tough and water resistant and was on sale for something like 170 of your units.

  • Anyone recommend a(n at least half way decent) 12v phono preamp that'll take mc cartridges? Was thinking the Nobosound ns03p but it doesn't sppear to be available anymore

  • 12v's a bit of an odd one as most op amps function better around 15v. Although it might have a decent power stage that can convert 12v into 15,0,15 or 17,0,17 I suppose. Are you trying to run it in a caravan? :)

  • Plex looks good - i'm going to investigate that.

  • Almost. Boat. Want as little 240v as poss. Nobosound amps look interesting too

  • Was going to say this or 2 UE Booms for camping/outdoors purposes. Mine has been to the bottom of a pool, and knocked off a balcony and come out unscathed - also bought my Sister the wonderboom for climbing and she has loved it. You won't be disappointed!

  • Thanks, still adjusting my hi-fi expectations (got it yesterday) down from my stereo, where I should be adjusting them up from my phone :)

  • Boat...phono preamp! You're going to have bigger problems to solve than the voltage. :)

  • Just an idea atm. Don't want to get shot of my vinyl though

  • Megaboom is going back, just not happy with the sound.
I think I was charmed by the durability and water resistance - went for a factory refurbed HK Go+Play.

  • Anyone interested in a Musical Fidelity V90-HPA headphone amplifier? New in box.

  • Anyone work in a dolby licensed sound studio? I need to deliver an ad for cinema release and want a quote to convert our stereo mix for the TVC into 5.1 and certify it/upload to Dolby etc.

  • Another Arcam AR60 amp has died on me, I have no luck with Vintage Hifi stuff, I'm sure 90% of people on here have no issues but mine always go fucking wrong, every fucking time, so time to ditch the dream and get something new...

Ideally around £500, but also looking at that Audiolab which is £900, needs to be small and look nice, inputs are record player and Airport express (via 2 xx 3.5). Must also be EU brand.

Anyone any recommendations (apart from stop being so damn fussy)?

  • How about the Cyrus One?

  • Was looking at them but too deep. Near 40cm!

  • Ah, okay.

  • Audio lab may be only option. But it’s £900.

  • Very nice though and if it's the ONLY option...

  • If anyone is after a reasonably priced DAC, I am selling a Beresford Caiman II. It kicks dicks - read the reviews.

All the connections you could ever need plus fixed/variable output so it can double as a pretty good preamp if you don’t use vinyl.

  • Would an RCA mod on a Philips 212 Electronic be worth the effort?

Now it has the old DIN contact and it's pretty noisey when not playing.

Everything is stock on it except the cartridge that is a AT95E.

  • Arcam AR60

    I want one.
