When you use 96kbps, you actually get 92kbps, the other 4kbps is used for checksums, error correction data and meta info like ID3.

Who was that aimed at?
I mentioned it upthread... Yes, I use a micro USB OTG cable with my M7 HTC one, it then outputs the raw digital files thru the USB for processing by an external DAC and headphone amp combo. In this case a Fiio E17 Alpen.

JUST TAKE MY MONEY AND BUILD SOMETHING THAT WILL READ MY FUCKING CDS AND PUT THEM SOMEWHERE I CAN PLAYBACK. EITHER ON A COMPUTER TETHERED TO AN AMP OR SOMETHING SENDING THEM TO A DEVICE THROUGH THE AIR.
please.

it does sound pretty fucking good

In response to wanting something to sit between an external HDD which would allow music files to be browsed and then output to anything with 3.5mm jack.

Nope, not rooted, running 4.4.3 - although I have enabled developer mode. No hub needed.
I bought a little OTG cable from amazon, think it was £5 or something. Literally just Phone > OTG cable > USB to Fiio
Works well. -

Oops. Double post.

I like the idea of Tidal but it looks like a wanky Spotify for dentists, GQ readers and overweight middle aged men who push Colnagos up hills during 70 mile sportives.
-
• #1498
it does sound really crisp though - going to rinse the 30 day trial then end it - can't be spending £20 a month to stream music!
-
• #1499
I'd pay that (pay for spotigy premium now) for high quality streaming in theory. All depends on the available library.

to me it's pretty extensive
Having said that, the recomendations (including links to songkick for upcoming concert tickets) are pretty good on Spotify proper (not the app).
