Might be best to wait till the salt has gone from the roads. I'm commuting every day on mine, and by the weekends the salt is eating the bolts up, which means a complete clean down every saturday. But if you want to do it sooner, that's cool by me.
Mine too :( I need to buy some new track nuts, they are beginning to go orange!

I can't remember whether it was Lustre Coatings or Colorcote that I used, (they're next door to each other) but whichever one is the one on the right closest to the road, I recommend them. Ha, sorry I can't be more helpful than that!

Cheers both ^ ^^
I'm only after a basic strip and clear powder on an old frame, so if it's doable around or under £50, that's good to know :-)

Well they stripped, powdercoated and lacquered for a bargain £35 :) did an awesome job Here mine they did

That does sound like a bargain. Did you have to clean out any over-spray from the head-tube and BB area, or did they mask it properly first?
Guessing it must be this place: Mastercote

Yep that's them mate, no not at all they masked it all of properly, then just had it rebuilt, it did take about a week depending on how many jobs they have but great for the money it cost.

Anyone got anything painted recently? Looking for somewhere to do a mtb frame
Hi,
Being my third post, I hope this doesn't come across as spam. I've just signed up and saw this thread.
I've been fixing up an old knackered alu frame. I was thinking about powder coating it but ended up stripping the frame bare - then having it clear coated. I used a powder coating firm up on Aylsham Road and they quoted £45 for any powder coat colour or for the clear.
I took the frame in 4pm on Tuesday and it was done 10am on Wednesday. They said up to a couple of days for colour if they have that RAL in stock - otherwise they have to order it in. Depends what other work they have on.
The clear coat looks good and heavy - can't say what powder coating is like as didn't see any frames in there. They're called J&P Procoat.
