It's a shame because he's obviously a very clever boy but my perception on the matter is that he is surrounded by fawning sycophants and it does neither him nor his writing any favours.

I've no idea if he's surrounded by sycophants, but I find he's still worth reading. I'm not a big fan of repetitive misanthropy, but Brooker puts in enough imaginative metaphors and genuine eulogies to stuff he does like that he is one of the few media commentators worth paying attention to.

I like his writing but it, combined with the accolades of the dozens of 'comments', are just sickening reminders of all that is manipulative, cynical or just pathetic in society.
