C2W isn't what it used to be, a 0% credit card would be just as effective with less jumping through hoops.
-
• #553
Just as effective how? You're not saving any money with a credit card, according to my calculations even with the new table of values I'll still save 20% on a £1000 CW voucher. Also, if last year is anything to go by they'll never ask me for the fair market payment.

Whoever it is that deals with final payments is clamping down on it and has issued a formal guide as to what the payment should be. From what I hear it's more or less a 0% loan now, rather than the fat saving it was.
-
• #555
Yeah the 20% saving is including the final payment - without the payment the saving is more like 40%.
-
• #556
I don't think anyone used to save 40%, unless they were in the upper tax bracket. Pretty sure it's got worse recently. Doubt you'd save 20% now.

If I got 600 worth of stuff id only pay 345 finally which is 42% saving off rrp. The cycle scheme always works out tonnes cheaper.

How much for the forks and bars?
Just a few questions:
-Are they aftermarket or off a complete.
-What is the axle size on the dropouts?
-Are the bars uncut/ what width are they?My mate chris is trying to upgrade his bike, so i said i will keep an eye out for him.

Make me an offer mate - I'd rather someone got some use out of them, otherwise they're just sittin in the garage.
Come and take a look if you want. Might be able to bring em to you one evening after work.
They're both off a WeThePeople 07 Trust. Axle is 10mm. I've not cut the bars, but I upgraded to wider ones as they felt a bit skinny for me. They're 25" wide, 10" height.

Changes from stock spec are:
90mm FSA stem, the stock 110 was a bit long for me but I still have it if required
M520 pedals, can provide flats instead (no straps I'm afraid) if you're not into clipless.
Cateye Vectra Ccmputer
Schwalbe Durano Plus tyres, crap for skidding but bulletproof otherwise
Charge Spoon saddle
Filthy orange bartape -

Does anyone want scrap bike parts? Rusty and broken, probably not ever ridable... maybe for a fucking art project or something? Half has been taken for that purpose, but some frames and wheels remain. Lots of tyres, too.
Also I have a decent Pashley Royal Mail postbike frame, and an unbranded oldish men's road bike frame which could maybe be brought to life (very rusty).
It's only worth about £4 if I tried to weigh it all in somehow, so there's no point doing that. Let me know if you might be interested.

• #574
I'd be into the Royal Mail bike...
-
• #575
Id be interested in the ye olde roadie.
Hmm this may have put a spanner in the works (no pun intended). Hopefully this isn't the case. If I have a word with the LBS they can hopefully sort something out.
