I have too many tyres :( And now moving to tubs. Sigh. Pair of new Lithion 2s and part worn Veloflex Master 25c going to, and probably others kicking about

Just testing the waters currently.. Would anyone be interested in buying a jersey like this? Would be somewhere around the £35-40 mark.. This is only the first draft of the design, in what will hopefully be a line of a few jerseys and shorts.

Are the Masters gumwall Tom? And are they strictly a road tyre, or could they take some abuse?
-
• #1865
Lithions are 23c - not my first choice, but not expecting much money for them either
-
• #1866
Whoa, we posted at the same time then, great minds.
-
• #1867
Masters are gumwall, but the rear is suffering from a bad case of dirty sidewalls from an ill advised winter ride. Might clean up, haven't tried particularly hard
-
• #1868
As for abuse, they actually hold up very well in the dry as they're so supple. No puncture protection though, so when it gets wet all the lubricated flint and glass works it's way in. Great for the countryside, wouldn't advise them for London, but haven't punctured in Norwich city centre yet. Absolutely sublime ride quality

I see. I didn't really think about gumwalls deteriorating aesthetically in the rain. Might not be best for someone who rides one bike all year round! That said, I'm very tempted by the Canelli frame in the main classifieds atm, and that practically demands gumwalls regardless of the rest of the build!
-
• #1870
Every bike needs gumwalls, if be tempted my some Resist Nomads for the STP.
On an unrelated note:
Tom, your über light frame, is that raw alu?
-
• #1871
PM'd you about the Dolan btw Tom, just to inundate you with more questions.
-
• #1872
^^ My road frame? Yeah, bead blasted aluminium with carbon seat stays.
-
• #1873
Nice, does it take much maintenance?
-
• #1874
To clean? I basically don't :p Quite a matte surface, near impossible to scrub clean without effort. About to sand the whole thing down, and then probably get it painted. If it wasn't for the carbon I'd have got it acid dipped, much better finish straight off

Are you thinking of doing what I think you're thinking of doing Rikki....
^^ Lee Valley Park Velodrome, ie the Olympic velodrome
