Probably not.

GTA V dispatched by Amazon...
Really wish I'd preordered it earlier than yesterday. I wasn't expecting them to dispatch it until Monday at the earliest so I left it until the last minute.
Sickening to think I could be sitting here playing it.

Yes mine is dispatched too.
Who knows with the privatisation of the Royal Mail we could have got Sunday delivery in future!

Been playing the Godus beta today. It's pretty simple at the moment but the basic mechanics are very addictive. Not a bad game considering it's about 40% complete.

think i'm almost done with diablo already.
lvl 48 now and on act 3 of 4 on nightmare level (second playthrough).
since the end of act 3 on normal playthrough i've pretty much got my equipment and abilities spot on for the difficulty level and haven't struggled once (i did die once but i was standing on some vampiric seal and didn't notice my health disappearing and then got whacked before i could heal so it was my own fault for having got complacent).
it just feels now like i'm going through the motions all over again simply for the sake of slightly better weapons which aren't noticeable anyways as they level almost exactly the same pace as the monsters.
the linear dungeons are now getting a bit samey and the handful of 'events' are so sparse and minimal that when they do occur the only thing that makes me bother doing them is the extra xp.
i dunno. the action is good but it's basically the same thing in 6 different slightly themed settings. i'm not sure multiplayer would really even save it that much. compared to skyrim the amount of quests and places to explore is like 5% tops. the amount of storyline is closer to about 1%.
think i'll get myself to level 60 and call it a day unless somehow it gets more interesting again but it's doubtful.

Sums up my views on the PC version too HB.
Apart from Skyrim I still haven't played that.
Once you've done the story you're then in to forever farming mode where you look for better items to do a tiny % better.
Anyway bring on GTA V - c'mon c'mon c'mon.

Sound like it's exactly the same as my experience with Diablo 2.

This. So much.
Presumably my download should unlock at midnight. That'll be me a bit fucked in work tomorrow then.

Sounds like you got your moneys worth. Its good old mindless hack slash loot upgrade rinse and repeat. Mindless addictive appeal. I'm enjoying this at the moment. Looks good too

i've certainly enjoyed playing it but i just had a bit of a watershed moment where i realised it had gone from enjoyment to obligation to progress.
it just seems that it could do with more reason to keep at it other than, oh look it's a little bit harder this time.
also they massively fucked up the smithing element really. by the time you're smithing decent items/gems you've already looted items much better so it makes the whole thing pretty much moot. i guess once you hit the top tier and the stats really matter it might be more important but to smith that kind of stuff requires a stupid amount of grinding for items so you're playing over and over so you can play over and over (yo dawg).

Yes agree about the smithing thing. I like the tinkering with companions abilities too.

Right, the hype train for GTA5 has finally worn me down.
Now the embargo has been lifted and the reviews ate landing. It may be a game I would like. -

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a PS3 tomorrow as I feel I've missed out on a fair bit being an Xbox 360 player and my Xbox is in storage for the next couple of weeks.
Are there exclusives beyond Heavy Rain, Unchartered and The Last of Us I should be looking at.
Probably looking at one bundled with GTA V, but looking for good excuses to justify it...
-
• #8672
tb55 i did the same recently and am so glad i did.
for older games, go to amazon and search for the games you want but look at the used prices. I got a lot of 1-3 year old AAA titles for £5-8 in used like new condition posted (some next day using my prime subscription).

I probably have one for sale if you're interested (old model...)

also psn+ is worth the couple of quid a month for the free games, just make sure you get a ps3 with a big hdd.

Boy at Game said they'd have 500GB super slim, GTA V, The Last of Us and Breaking Bad S1 for £185 which seems like a pretty good price, especially as they're the two games I'm most keen to play.
Oh yes! Love that game.
