Also has anyone played the new Splinter Cell demo? Good stuff, the graphics on that game are brilliant as well.
Ooooh... Didn't know they were doing a sequel. Always loved the first one.

So far i am 3 for 3 in my pre-season freindlies (playing as the mighty WBA). Hopefully sign a couple of good youth players as well.

I have fucked my laptop meaning all I have at home is my iMac. The only game I've EVER played on OSX is the free Chess game it comes with.
I long to shoot stuff and get a good dose of WASD claw.
Anyone have any experience on the matter? -

Two are old maps, old but gold. Personally I'd have had Downpour, but happy to see the return of Crash (?) with the crashed copter at the centre, and the big one with the dry riverbed, lots of scope for snipers and close-combatants alike.
Of the new ones, there's a brilliant urban one with lots of warehouses and large open spaces, and one in the snow with some tight rat-runs and a house that all the fools flock to, which is handy as they're all together, makes picking them off very easy.

Mac gaming should drstically improve soon as they've announced Steam for os x.
It won't be some half-arsed port either, most games will be released simmultaneously from now on.
I guess the success of iPhone gaming is really starting to hit the industry and most of apples crop are capable of pushing some decent framerates.

Crispin, any idea if they are out on PSTriple yet, or is another case of microsoft throwing money at the games companies so they get it first?

Yes a good demo and different, less complicated moves set to earlier games. also way-pointing is done by big white letters on buildings. And cut scenes are video projected on the buildings too. Seems much less stealth based that ealier SC games so hope the tension levels are maintained.
Probably pick it up for a play this weekend

Well now half way through the (short) single player game of Splinter cell conviction and it's great fun. I'm playing it on realistic difficulty setting as it's much to easy on any other settings for veteran gamers.
Took me a while to get used to the slower stealthy pace but it's not as stealthy and slow as the earlier SC games which I had little patience for. I especially like the new cover system which is a bit like Gears of war (as in left trigger sticks you to the nearest cover) but better, more strategic.
One downside is that you know when you're invisible when the colour bleeds out and you play in black and white, which is stupid as the graphics and colours are excellent and you miss out on them for half the time.
Definitly worth checking out though.
