Video Games

Anyone got one of these (RG35XX)? Have very much enjoyed a play through of Link’s Awakening. That really rolled back the years and brought back a lot of memories from around 30 years ago.

Theres thousands of games on it, so you kinda need an idea of what to look for. I’ve enjoyed replaying Robocop, Aliens and Terminator Master System games for a quick bit of fun. There’s no Mario, nor some other GameBoy games I remember fondly (Hunt for Red October, Monster Max). Maybe one day I’ll get a card reader and grab those and other ROMs.

I’m moving onto a replay of SNES Zelda. Can anyone else who has it recommend any hidden gems from what’s preloaded?

I go for the most obscure broken games to cosplay being a game-geek last centaury.

I just got a Retroid Pocket 2s there. Great little machine. No games with it, but I've got a fair few PS1/DC/N64/(S)NES ROMs so have been having a ton of fun with it so far. Mostly Ridge Racer Type 4 for the past week or so!

I’ve got a miyoo mini plus and honestly the game I’ve played the most is hot shots golf on the PS1

I've been replaying Super Mario World, so fun. I'm a massive Bubble Bobble fan and have been dabbling with Parasol Stars as well, super fun! I can only get so far with Jet Set Radio, there seems to be a controller glitch that won't let me past the training section of the game.

I've only played Crazy Taxi in terms of the Dreamcast games so far, downloaded JSR but haven't got around to playing it yet. Fingers crossed all goes smoothly!

I'll have to give that a spin as well, haven't played it in forever.

Think it (was) free on PS plus and I love it.
Replacing my Slay the Spire time with this (I think 200 hours was enough to prove I am shit at StS)

Can't decide whether I should do Homeworld 3.

Only have vague memories of the first, and they're more of the style rather than the gameplay. New one definitely has the style, but reviews haven't convinced me it's otherwise worth it.

Playing Ghost of Tsushima on PC - is it me or is it just Far Cry with swords? Anyway, mildly diverting.

Loved it. Only 'modern' game I've played through twice.

Got Hades recently in the sale on my Switch. Does everyone find it addictive? I might have to delete it like I did with Slay the Spire. That “just one more run” is toooooo tempting 😈

Was watching streamer playing hades 2 (already had hades as a favourite in PlayStation store, just never got round to buying) and thought i should buy the first to see what all the excitement was about, then saw it wasn’t discounted currently and thought ill wait until it is. I’d say I should have it and be not playing it by September..

It's fairly moreish, but being able to save in any room makes it much easier to put down than some things (say Dead Cells, where the save points are between levels).

Admittedly I usually do badly picking up a run saved part-way through, because I've forgotten the exact combination of boons.

I have no idea what I’m doing, no stamina, big sword, and haven’t figured out how to parry properly. Real challenge to not just mash all the buttons at once, to KILL EVERYTHING ..

Lol yes, took me a while to realise this. Does help a bit. Finally defeated Hades, took me long enough.

Still don't know if I'll ever defeat him with the 8 skulls needed for the first daft trophy, or whether I'll ever beat Charon (at all, let alone fulfilling that prophecy), or ... loads of stuff I'll probably never do before Hades 2 is properly out.

I hate myself for it, but I started a new build in Fallout 4 for the PS5 update.

Did port over one from last year, but I noticed the trophies don't sync, so I am starting again for those digital trinkets.

I notice it's about 3 weeks till "Still Wakes the Deep" drops. When I say "notice", I mean I've been couting down to it since they announced the date. I expect it to scare me shitless, but having grown up in Aberdeenshire, I can't miss this one.

They've been putting subtitles on all the trailers, which is a bit much since those have the mildest Aberdonian accent you could find. If they had the characters actually speaking the Doric, I'd understand, since even Glaswegians would need the subtitles. Still, counting down.
