  • Nobody blinked for a week?

  • Hah! I was gonna add to my comment that the last 2 games I pre-ordered were MGSV and GTA: San Andreas.

I remember it came out around Autumn mid-term when I was at school and I finished it over 3 days. I recall it took 32 hours over those 3 days.

    Good times

  • Top comment on that vid is so good

  • Excited!

Just need to get a few meetings out of the way now.

  • Quite jealous, but I'm happy to wait until there's more than two AAA offerings for it.

  • GT7 currently selling it for me but let's see.

    Will report back.

  • No Man's Sky just dropped an update that supports it. Waiting to hear what the PSVR2 players report, but we PC VR players are also seeing benefits.

  • Yeah, I'll download it again at some point.

Still need to re-find my VR legs tbh. Been a while since I sold my Quest so won't be doing anything with too much movement for now to avoid the vomit comet experience.

  • Iā€™m disappointed in Atomic Heart,

Beautiful but felt very early ā€˜10, and oh my god your character will not stop talking.

The captioning are horrifically small, made me realise just how good Farcry 6 with accessibility

  • I just started tonight. Feels like a bioshock clone with ā€˜23 graphics so far..

  • Bit late to the party, but just starting playing Ghost of Tsushima really enjoying in so far. My god I can't play it for to long as it sounds like my PS4 is going to take off. From the moment I start the fan is in overdrive, can't play a sneaky session as someone on a call comment about the background noise.

Is it a common issue with this game?

  • Is it a common issue with this game?

I just think it's a common issue with late lifecycle games on the OG PS4 / XBone.
PS4 Pro / Xbox One X solved these issues largely but the new generation are silent which is so much nicer.

    Time for an upgrade?

  • Yeah think so, PS5 time.

  • Yeah might just bit the bullet and get the digital version

  • Was getting pretty excited for KSP2 but it looks like a complete shambles in its current state. Pretty disappointing but also not exactly surprising.

  • anyone else playing warhammer total war 3? enjoying the huge immortal empire campaign at the moment with Teclis

  • I play it on and off, mostly been doing the Cathay campaigns but I suck at TW games so keep losing.

  • I played the prologue, then couldn't get into the full campaign - too many unique mechanics by army to wrap my work addled brain around.

  • So, OH and kid went to visit family for a few days and I dug out the Xbox from the loft after 5 years gathering dust, hoping to finally start RDR2, which I bought years ago and never started. But I couldn't find it, so went to our local smalltown CEX with its full half-dozen games on offer.

Long story short, I'm a level 27 Redguard sneaky archer - again. wtf am I doing with my life?

  • I'm a level 27 Redguard sneaky archer - again.

    Amazing.

  • Fuck. Gonna have to install that while I wait for Company of Heroes 3 to not be 50 quid.

  • Yeah, I'll download it again at some point.

Give it a few weeks. It seems a combination of the Playstation release process and pressure to have something for the PSVR2 official launch date means the current release doesn't have everything it should for PSVR2. Doesn't have the support for the PSVR2 graphics features that were shown in pre-release videos, for example. Nice upgrades and fixes for PC VR, though.

Still need to re-find my VR legs tbh.

What works for any one person in VR is so hugely personal and distinct - by the very nature of the thing, I suppose. Working out what that is for you (and how much of that you can afford) is a whole process in itself. Then finding how much any given game matches it, or can be adapted to it, is another challenge. I don't argue much with people about their views and choices - when the whole point is immersion, you can't tell somebody else they're wrong about what feels immersive to them. That said, some people's attitudes to it limit their options a lot. There's a niche within the niche of NMS VR players who hate it because "it's not room-scale". Well, it does allow room scale but doesn't fully support it - the HUD doesn't follow you if you walk around your "room", for example. But few games fully support room-scale and even fewer are any good.

Been a while since I sold my Quest so won't be doing anything with too much movement for now to avoid the vomit comet experience.

Ah. I have an iron stomach as far as VR motion is concerned, but there's a bug in the Nautilon submersible where, under some rare conditions, it can bounce uncontrollably on the water surface and that's quite an, um, experience in VR. Some things you can do in the game would also be a challenge for anybody with even mild vertigo. Recently I was creating a structure several hundred metres in the air, extending off the top of a tall building, and I became a little nervous about walking anywhere near the edge. Felt a bit wobbly just walking up a short ground-level flight of stairs for a few hours afterwards.

Back on topic, I'm hearing people saying they're underwhelmed by the current offerings for PSVR2 (their number and quality). But as I said, some people are very fussy and absolutist about this.

  • New Eden Ring DLC announced

  • maybe this will actually get me on another playthrough. I'd like to do a non-ungabunga, no spirit summons run.
