When I was about level 13 my mate (who had completed it) told me to go to old olney as 'there was some reall cool stuff there'. He then pissed himself as I tried (and repeatly failed) to get out of there without dying. Just about made it after I hid behind a building and the Deathclaw eventually got bored and fucked off. Took about an hour.

Looking back now it was pretty funny

funniest moment so far encountering a blind deathclaw at primms pass and running like fuck stimpacking as I went to get away from it. had to jump off a cliff to get enough of a headstart on it, then I hid in abandoned building waited until I was [hidden] again. came out, he was still waiting so I ran like fuck again straight into a gang who also started chasing me until I managed to reach an armed outpost where I hid out until the heat died down.

When you are [hidden], and there's someone's likely to be outside, try and wait for says a couple hours (you know, press back and you'll get an option to wait), then they might go.

Get the YCS/186 and load up with Max Charge microfusion cells. Apply to Deathclaw face, acquire XP.

Have now spent a good 18 odd hours playing the game. Am almost at lvl 13, I've been barred from all but one of the casinos and have found about 50 locations (but not been into a lot of them).

but I've yet to do the first official quest as I skipped the starting town and went walkabout :D

Yeah I'm starting to question whether I should get one of the new games...it made me remember that I bought a DS just to play Diamond years back and it was so complicated and full of bullshit new pokemon that I knew as soon as I completed it I'd never restart it. So when I completed it I sold my DS and the game. So I'd have to buy another DS to play White/Black. I might just restart Ruby on the good old GBA and cocoon myself in the old, good Pokemon world.

I still have blue and a gb pocket for full on retro poké action.
My ds is b0rked but parrywife has one she doesn't use.
Might see if I can pick up a cheap copy of black/white.
