Played zombies on Cold War for the first time today. Never really liked it when I tried it on an earlier CoD but the groups seem to work together more than I recall. Might be related to the SBMM in CoD but I've had pretty positive experiences in general.

To be fair, my console experience of the last decade has been limited to Vita & Switch ownership, so I'm no expert on console manufacturer's modern practices. Nor am I particularly biased towards any of them. I didn't find Nintendo nor Sony particularly 'pro-consumer', nor do I really expect it. They offer games, I buy them if I think they're worth the price.

I remember being miffed at Vice City Stories being removed from the Vita store before I could buy it (due to music licensing expiry issues as far as I recall). That was bad enough but just limiting it for the sake of pressuring consumers into buying it seems ridiculous.

Honestly, I love my Switch (probably largely due to the fact that it's the only handheld of this gen) and I'll likely still pick up and enjoy BotW2, but I really hope this sort of practice blows up in Nintendo's face. I do remember hearing about some sort of FTP Mario Kart game a while back so I guess these sorts of things are not a one-off here.

I'm actually properly hyped for apex legends on switch now - I love love LOVED TF2 and it looks like it shares some similarities (albeit with scaled back movement options and no titans) + panic button are wizards + gyro aiming is confirmed...

I skipped the whole generation for xbox last time out but was pretty invested in the xbox 360 and so presumably still have quite a lot of games linked to my live account. will I be able to download and play those on a series S (assuming that the game in question is BC of course)? I mean, they may all be pish but it would be a nice to have I think.

Yes, generally you should be able to. There'll probably be some exceptions, but the backwards compatibility is pretty good.

Yeah I was going to but then I remembered I never used my 360, have about 100 games on PC I haven't even opened, and my spare time is only going to be drastically reduced in the coming months.

yeah... I downloaded it. 30fps feels so juddery, then it has frame drops. crossplay lobbies on by default too so just got railed both games I played... I might try a few games with crossplay off but think I'll just pass on apex for now : /

Not many people will turn off crossplay so you’ll be waiting for a game for hours.

That sucks but tbh it's not a surprise. for a billion dollar product their QA is ridiculous.
