  • Saw this whilst looking for trailers for ps5 games after the launch announcement.
Surprised it's month old and I hadn't heard about it.
Starting to get super excited by this.

  • 194 for me 🎉

This is quite a common complaint tbf

  • 194 actually you're right.

  • Makes me wonder what kind of memory ps5 games will require.
Maybe someone picked that up in their recent promotional stuff?

  • The ssd the ps5 comes with as standard is 825gb I think. Not sure about the digital only version.
I’ve got a 2tb hybrid drive in my ps4. And that feels like plenty when I’ve still yet to get to loading death stranding and red dead 2.
Sure Sony or someone else will come up with a larger ssd that’s compatible, and gamers will pay the premium for it..

  • Hello I'm working on a Ps5 game that was in that reveal, Returnal.

I'm just posting this because I have had to keep my mouth shut for a year and it feels good to let it out. Like taking a shit after being constipated for ages.

  • Based on the work of daniel lopatin?

  • Strong work. Liked the look of it. Another game with a female protagonist, which is good. Third person shooter so if it gets even decent reviews I’ll probably be playing it come 2022..

What was your role/job if you don’t mind me asking?

  • Audio

  • Like taking a shit after being constipated for ages.

    :')

  • I've seen it speculated that Activision are actively un-optimising CoD so that it monopolises users HDD space and stops them from buying / playing other games

  • Is the battle pass version of modern warfare worth getting? I dont really understand it tbh - I havent played any online games for a few years so I dont know what the seasons are, or blueprints or tiers or what cod points get you.

It's an extra €20. I couldn't care less about weapon skins or visual things

  • *le sigh*

I was a whisker away from landing an audio job at Sony in 1993, instead of getting me in they decided to get rid of their in-house audio department altogether!! Close call, would've been an interesting alternate timeline...

  • Mostly/only visuals...

    Don’t bother.

  • Pretty much this. I think "seasons" came about because BR style games have generally been released "free" so it was a way for developers to generate income by releasing timed seasons that had different content in them (the freemium model).

You don't really gain much (if any) competitive advantage, there is potentially a tiny bit but not much.

CoD points are the in game currency. Typically you can only buy set chunks of CoD points and those chunks are never the same size as the price of the item, so you're forced to buy more points than you need which then incentivises you to spend them.

The only redeeming feature of the battlepass is that I think if you max it out in the season it rewards you with enough cod points to buy the next one, so you only have to pay real money once. And you get a load of better than standard looking stuff to impress your friends with!

  • sorry I typed a reply to this yesterday but obviously didn't hit post reply.

The battle pass is mostly cosmetics which are of no interest. the only thing of real merit it gives by way of rewards are operator skins which also unlock the operators they are for and legendary/epic weapon blue prints.

The main drive to get it I think is the "grind" it offers will give you something new to try and achieve every time you log on. however if you're not fussed by unlocking things and just want to play the game and try to win then that probably doesn't matter much either.

tl;dr if it doesnt sound like your cup of tea it probably isnt but you'll still be able to enjoy the game without it.

  • The battle pass is mainly to make money from people who've only downloaded the free version for Warzone. However they have started hiding some weapons in it which sucks.

  • The weapons in the battle pass are free tier so as long as you play enough you still unlock them. Theres no pay to win and the blueprints you get in addition just provide unique skins/and the occasional iron sight variation.

I think you get back all the COD points you spent on the battle pass by the time you complete it so essentially the battle pass is a mechanism for breaking the seal on spending money to begin with.

I'll be honest, this is second battle pass I've gotten and i've ended up buying loads of shit from the store in-between to keep the grind for more wins interesting, and well there is fuck all else to do during lock down is there.

  • As a payment model I actually don't mind it. you get a shit load more than you do for buying "packs" or loot boxes in other games and it does give an incentive to return to the game.

I bought the level boost battle pass for apex legends as I wasnt sure I'd get through the whole 110 levels in time but I'm at level 90 and there's about 7 weeks left and i think I'll be done in about 3 weeks tops so next time I'll just get the basic one and let the coins fund the next one.

even so I feel like I got my moneys worth and essentially just "bought" the game with what I paid for the pass so I'm not out of pocket.

  • Demon's Souls ps5 trailer -
    https://youtu.be/2TMs2E6cms4

  • There is speculation that they might have finished the 5th world as well based on the snow and giant hand in the trailer

  • This feels like clutching at straws - there's snow and giant hand in the original intro, they're just copying that

  • Oh, is there? I honestly didn't remember
