  • I know thats very much in keeping with the rest of the doom games but I'd love to see a game like that but a bit less slapstick, maybe the whole thing being physically darker and the demons having less obvious physical forms (blending into the background/objects) which for me would make it genuinely terrifying.

  • With 2016, just as it got a little tedious a new, harder enemy would appear, then you'd master them and a new weapon would appear and make it fun again, them you get jumpy jump boots and it becomes funner.
And the metal soundtrack made it quite thrilling.

    I'm a fanboi.

  • Fired up Cuphead. Remembered why I put the thing away.

  • Alien Isolation meets Sniper Elite?
    Count me in

  • Does it not get boring?

Nah it’s like SuperMario but with demons and massive guns and a very grim sense of humour.

  • Xmas has been flu while bonding with Trico in The Last Guardian. Sweet game and innovative in relationship development with NPC.

Onto Hollow Knight for some 2D-ish souls like.

@sumo have Sekiro ps4 you could borrow for a few months. I do plan to pick it up later this year.

  • Thanks for the offer but I'm not sure I'll get through it in that time. Maybe when you're done with it

  • Division 2 is £7.50 right now. £12.60 for gold which, I think, comes with all the year one DLC.

  • Started an SL1 run on Dark Souls Remastered on the switch, got as far as Iron Golem and he killed me 3 times now (more than any other boss) so have put it down for a bit.

Then started a STR build in Dark Souls 3 on the PS4. Currently in Irithyll, about to head to the dungeon.
    Heavy Zweihander FTW!
Charged 2H R2 pancakes are fun.

  • Watched a preview video of Doom Eternal before going to bed last night and had very vivid Doom Dreams with endless enemies and me constanly running out of ammo.

This does not bode well for how actually playing the game may affect me.

  • "Return of the Obra Dinn", which has been out for over a year but was recently ported to the Switch.

Amazing game. Horror mystery, references to W.W. Jacobs, Conan Doyle among others, intricate plot to unravel, great artwork.

Wasn't until I'd finished it that I realised it was by the guy who made "Papers, Please".

  • I don't wear slippers, but if I did...

  • Sort of enjoying Sekiro but was hoping it would be something I could just drop into (having just played RDR2 and Witcher3). Turns out I'm going to have to spend time actually learning and practicing stuff if I want to avoid the tedium of beating the same grunts time and time again just to get back to the boss who is wicked hard to beat... Stupid save system is stupid.

    Frustrating/10

  • Do you Dark Souls?

I know it's another From software game, I love DS/ DS3, haven't played Sekiro yet. Not sure if being DS-savvy makes it an easier or harder transition.

  • I'm playing on PC which possibly makes things more tricky control-wise. Never played Dark Souls but have heard that being familiar with it actually doesn't help that much. It may just be that I'm crap. In fact 99.9% sure this is what it is. Just wish they didn't have the stupid save system. There is a point where having to repeat stuff all the time just to get another go at a boss who has beaten you 5 times already because you hit one wrong button at the wrong time will get very very old.

  • SSX Tricky is arguably the best game of all time.

Recently been playing it on a PS3 with mini-moocher but it keeps crashing on the 2nd course. Means we can't progress to unlock other courses.

Don't suppose anyone has a copy they want to sell me?

  • Sounds like Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Was an absolute shambles with a sword the first time I had to use one. Couldn't even run more than 50 feet. Levelling was achingly slow but eventually my abilities caught up with my aspirations.

  • picked up Dragonage Inquisition for pennies. Standard mindless magic and monsters fayre. gets extra points for featuring dwarves that don't all have scottish accents.

  • Expats? Like Richie?

  • Sexpat, I think you'll find.

  • Fuck me. The Sexpats. For the reunion. That one's on me.

  • I'm in...

  • CeX or cash converters is always a goldmine for cheap, older games.

Although these days the older the games the more they cost

  • Will they make me betterer at mario cart?
