Ooh, it's a less-environmentally-friendly sequel to Mini Metro!
Does look a bit fancier, though.

Haha yeh the same developers, I’ve never played Mini Metro before but am enjoying this a lot. Such beautiful UI. There’s a few bugs that need fixing but it’s great. I love the bleepy bloopy sound effects too, it’s actually quite relaxing before the chaos starts to manifest.
Oh, I like to think they’re electric cars running on renewables.

I suspect they thought cars were more friendly to the US market.
Look, they're using the US highway numbering signs, and driving straight across the "traffic circles". -

Ha, very true.
They’re planning to add roundabouts in an update, so it’s going to become a real highway Frankenstein.

Didn't Mini Metro have a few US maps? New York was definitely on there.
Granted, metropolitan US isn't representative of the entire country.

I was never satisfied with my Mini Metro version of the NY subway. Always seemed to be burning through tunnels too fast, or ending up with really long straggly lines.
I mean, it's not inaccurate, just unsatisfying. I should try it again ...

I felt the same about Montreal. The island wasn't the right size or something. But maybe it's been updated.
Did enjoy the game, though.

Fuck, that looks awesome! I'd want to see the battery life first though.

I was kind of interested until I read
Analogue Pocket does not play rom files, it plays legacy game cartridges via the cartridge slot.
I assume that may well change once people get their hands on it but if it only plays cartridges I may as well stick with my GameBoy Micro

FPGA inclusion is pretty cool, if anyone uses it

Could just pick up an Everdrive to load ROMs onto?
-
• #21064
Or just go for an existing handheld that runs retroArch?

Belatedly enjoying Spideyman on the PS4. Not much of a fan of Marvel stuff, but the game's damn good.

All out of stock :(

I'm sure more will be landing soon, they've got a pretty huge demand as far as I can tell. Got one during the kickstarter phase and they're awesome little things. As it's effectively a handheld RaspberryPi, I can remote into it, write games on it and play them then and there!

They have some on amazon.com which you can probably pay to import. You'd have to pay to import them directly from the manuf anyway.

SNES games on the Switch is fantastic, about time too... Was a really fun part of owning the Wii-U...
-

This isn't emulation though, it's functionally identical to the original hardware.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is out on the 31st.

So soon... Haven't played that since the first one on the GameCube, looking forward to it...

Rdr2 on pc looks special, obvs

I can understand it being a USP and for some people it's a no-brainer to buy it. But surely for most people wanting a handheld console for retro gaming, emulation wins out.

Yes - this should do nicely to cover the first half of next year once I'm finally done with Witcher 3...
Apple Arcade is great so far. Hooked on a couple of games, Mini Motorways is fun https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/mini-motorways/id1453901000
