Ed I take it you'd recommend it then? I had a free trial code but the fact I had to download it from a torrent who's max speed 50/60kbs put me right off.

I do recommend it as it's a pretty fun games with action movie-style plot.
The muiltplayer was fun, however it's the custom map that made it even more fun with different way of playing the games, such as the Income War (the latest one is a lots better);

I played through New Vegas on the PC and didn't encounter any gamebreaking bugs. I think it crashed maybe 5 times in over 90 hours.
I've heard a lot about these bugs but anecdotally, it's just a lot of sound and fury.

Or this is just another example of the usual PC gaming problem, you just have a more compatible setup than those having the problems.

Could be, but I'm hardly on a 'gaming rig'. I'm doing it on a Macbook Pro dual-booted into Windows 7.

hah! i'm the same as well (MacBook Pro with Windows 7).
Actually I have Windows 7 as my main OS while OS X is just hiding behind it.

Fallout is buggy if you have shit components or a messy install, but if it runs on a dualboot mac then it cant be that bad. 100+ hours on a £300 pc build, 2 crashs no glitches except a few weird decapitation anims.

Not really about a messy install or shit components...i'm pretty sure Gamespot, IGN, Gametrailers etc have the best possible PC environments to review games on and all have reported bugs from light to severe.
Not to mention these bugs happen on consoles too.
Just luck of the draw really.
thanks for advice guys
am going for this
