Anyone got an arcade box running retropie/similar with a library they might be willing to share.
Just built a picade but struggling to fill it.
DM if need be.

Pipe kart, small blue wheels and blue glider thing is my combo: max acceleration and min speed. Helps so much. A pal uses the 'Mr Scooty' bike and it's just ridiculous - so manouvreable

I used the boat with wooden wheels but can't remember which glider on the Wii U, made short work of 200cc...

I have a lot of MAME stuff and various others (SNES mainly I think).
Newsgroups are the easiest option I find, have a search on https://nzbindex.com/ I find the easiest way is filter down to the emulator groups and search with a large minimum file size to find libraries rather than individual ROMs.

Sorry if someone else posted this.. Forza Horizon 2 is free this month with Xbox Live. Really fun! Had no idea that it was a free roam-ish game. Good way to promote Horizon 4.

Horizon games are some of the best available on xbox

Think I'm gonna give this a go this weekend...
Also finally got around to buying a full set of Zelda BOTW amiibo NFC cards, not that much more expensive than buying blank tags in the end... I'll finish the game once they arrive!

Doom Eternal pls
Looks like a continuation of the recent one but with more stabby stabby options -

Watched the conference yesterday. Kills look so satisfying. With that said, I didn’t finish Doom... or Wolfenstein. I just don’t think Bethesda shooters are my kind of thing. Fallout on the other hand.......

I built an arcade a couple of years ago, it's powered by a pi3. Do you know which emulator you want to run. I use the mame-libreto (lr-mame2003), which is rock solid with the pi3 and has great shaders for crt emulation. I've got the the full rom set which I'd be happy to share but it's about 30gb (over 3000 games). If you search for mame 0.78 rom set you should be able to find it pretty easily.
Have a look into attract mode too, it's an alternative front end for retropie that's a lot better than emulation station for arcades.

tbh i haven't looked into the software side at all yet, the picade only comes with instructions to assemble the cabinet and then basically says "um yeah install retropie or something. THE END".
they even forgot to add instructions to edit the boot config to uncomment a line that prevents the thing from running the display on screen when booted. every single customer of the new picade has to now figure that out for themselves. and there's no guidance on how to setup the controls in retropie even though that is specific to how they designed it.
Feels a bit like one of those haunted houses where you are guided through really fast then suddenly you go through a door and you're back on the street in the daylight and there's no one around and it takes a few seconds before you're like "oh so I'm back on my own now, wtf do i do now?".

I didn't have a bloody clue what I was doing with the building or the software when I started but somehow managed to cobble something together. There's a lot of things that can go wrong and because everyone uses different parts for their builds there's not a one stop shop for solutions. I had a nightmare getting my joysticks and usb audio working properly . I thought the all in one packs would solve those issues? Look at a guy called floob on YouTube he's got loads of videos on retropie and breaks things down really well.

Fortnite is out on Android (well Samsung's) - this should be good, I much prefer it on the ps4 to pubg-m.

Everyone should give Dead Cells a try. Mainly @mmccarthy but still.
Its like FTL, but actually fun ... Movement reminds me a lot of Mark of the Ninja and the weapon variety is excellent, and enough to push you into trying different approaches. Because you are getting permanent upgrades as you progress it feels far less necessary to have a successful run which was my biggest issue with FTL

Just did 7 AWM kills in PUBG after I ran for the drop early on (deserting my team who all got killed - so basically a squad vs 1 game). 2 of the kills were with a holographic sight at extreme distance. Crazy powerful gun. The calibre must be nuts in the game physics counter - as long as the dot in the centre of the holo was covering the target it's basically an insta-kill. Pretty much never used it before but my new fave. Also was a bit more brash about going for headshots. Usually, I'd think I'd never hit them so didn't bother aiming for the head but the torso.
Got done by the zone on 7 kills with 8 players left : (
csb etc
That Dead Cells looks kinda fun btw ^

I enjoy your PUBG tales.
Might have some time this week for it although my bloody internet is playing up atm.
Looking forward to sinking some real time into some games this winter, Fallout 76 is looking tempting but I really ought to give 4 a proper go. And the Metro series.

Once I can sort out viable access to our loft that isn't a flimsy ladder I'm going full gamer (obvs home studio obvs but also full gaming pc clobber).

Will prob reinstall virginity.

Battle for Azeroth dropped last night.
So far the questing seems a lot more involved, voice acting and in-game cinematics are all a vast improvement

christ are people still playing WoW?
dark times.

Doesn't have the same life destroying qualities that it used to have, which is probably a good thing.
Still enjoy it, only been playing the same game for 12 years

Pre-ordered and was really looking forward to it until I realised I have to housesit for the next 2 weeks! At least the starting areas won't be so busy when I eventually get to play!
What are you leveling as a main? Have a few 110's but really not sure what to level up first.
-
• #19349
Usually end up with as a Holy Paladin main every expansion, so I've cut to the chase and started on that from the get go. Touch and go with Shaman/Druid though!
Areas were busy last night, but the server was really stable - I think they've cracked the opening day server management thing.
What are you thinking of running? Good luck with the 2 week wait...!

I logged in to play Asheron's Call at the end of 2016. There were still people playing, after 16 years.
There are still people playing Everquest...
MMORPGleif
PS much better without that auto steer bollocks, thanks for the tip...
