Yeah, Darker Side was fun!
Took me loads of tries as well.
Overally not too hard but where I’ve died 97% of time was the bit with the bird and swinging platforms.
Once I’ve finally managed to get on top, finished it on first try.
I have Odyssey on 100% completed (had to use a guide for 6 Moons).
Nintendo just announced new DLC releasing next month for free which looks pretty fun!

I have Oddyssey on 100% completed (had to use hint for 6 Moons).
I have about 550 moons at the moment and i'm now at the point where i'm having to look some of them up online. Still fun but not as fun as discovering them all. I'll keep going just to complete each of the worlds because reasons.

Personally I despise the control scheme in top-down games where W/Up moves towards the mouse.
Would much rather have twin-stick style controls for those types of games.
Currently working on a top down game myself so interested to hear which control scheme people prefer (I'll most likely include both to allow players to choose)

Thinking it through and it's really tied into the constraints on player movement/shooting.
Just considering top-down 2D, I can think of (and I'm sure there are loads more)Movement is 4 or 8 way and shoot in the direction of movement -> 'single-stick' meaning 4/8 way stick/keypad/keys. Like the earliest top-down shooters. e.g. Commando, Gauntlet
Movement is 4/8 way, shooting also 4/8 way but not tied to direction of movement -> 'twin-stick', meaning 2 x 4/8 way stick/keypad/keys e.g. Robotron 2048, Binding of Isaac
Movement in any direction, shoot in the direction of movement, but rotation speed is constant: Atari Combat (Tanks) - simple model of a real tank with fixed turret so that needs 4 keys: rotate L/R + forward/back, but not a single 4-way stick because that wouldn't allow you to rotate at the same time as stopping/changing direction. Asteroids similar but 3 keys
Movement in any direction, shoot in the direction of movement, rotation speed is unconstrained (shoot at mouse pos): Hotline Miami possibly?
Movement 4/8 way, shooting in any direction, rotation speed unconstrained (shoot at mouse pos): surviv.io is the only example I know. It would be a very different game if it used 'rotate' keys. Or on console controller ...
Wikipedia says 'In more recent years, twin stick control has also become the most common control method for the First-Person Shooter genre on home consoles. It is also now commonly used in the Third-Person Shooter genre. but that's a completely different control system to top-down 'twin-stick'.

Skyrim on Switch - how good is it?
I have it on PC and Xbox already, but there's something about being able to play it whilst having a shit that makes sense.

I bought a new Xbone battery pack online, but it turned out it came from China and took over 6 weeks to get here. That was shit.
But it works, and I'm now Witchering again after 8 months off. Hope to put another 150+hrs into that, bobbing around, playing Gwent, shooting the breeze until the new Red Dead comes out. Then I won't be 2-3 years behind this thread for a change...

Oh my reading this reminds me that we used to play a network version of Duke Nukem at work and we had loads of user maps. They were great lunchbreaks! Might even get a copy for the ps.

Does the Switch auto pause games if you turn it off/ sleep mode?
I have a Vita and one of the best things about it is the ability to hit the off button at any time and the game just stops until you turn it on again and you can carry on.

Have read metro 2033 book while away this January, looking forward to playing the game maxed out with my egpu. Will also be back on PUBG in Feb, been playing with some ruthlessly efficient German lads, the chicken dinner still eludes is though (kills are usually high though).

m2033 has some lovely environments, such a shame that you'll suffocate if you stop to admire them.

New game of Neptune's Pride starting in the lab soon, both insanely excited and dreading it all at once

Pubg is surprisingly good fun on the XB1 - apart from the potato houses when you parachute in and the lag in places.
I'm sure both of these things will get better in time but it's one of the most fun games I've played for a while.

Currently enjoying Supermeat Boy on Switch.
Played it a bit on 360 back in the day, but this is lerfect couch/portable game.
Very challenging and fun. Finished main “story” and now finishing up collectables, secrets, target times.
Switch is seriously one of the best gaming devices I’ve owned.
And it will only get better and better.
Lineup for this year is mental! -

Every time I decide to buy a Switch, I find other things to spend my money on.

At the moment my only reason to buy one is to play Breath of the Wild, and I have nowhere near enough free time to enjoy that at the moment. So that balances out.

Have read metro 2033 book while away this January, looking forward to playing the game maxed out with my egpu.
The book is great, the games is very much limiting compare to the content of the book and seriously lacking full subtitles, but still great to play.
If you enjoyed this, then you will really enjoyed Last Light a lots.
@useless: Judging from the gameplay video I've superficially watched, I think that has 4 or 8-way move and 4 or 8-way look/shoot?
Whereas surviv.io has 8 way move, but analogue mouse controlled aiming, where you are always aiming in the direction of a cursor. Rather than directly controlling rotation, as you are with the right analogue stick of a console 3d FPS.
Reminds me a bit of prehistoric arcade Missile Command. Which I couldn't get my head round either.
