Debatable. And the experience will be better overall if you start with one.

2 is a better game, but mainly because it's bigger and goes into further weird portal mechanics. 1 was a free tag on game but is just as much fun as 2 and definitely worth playing, although playing it after 2 will make it seem like a step back.

Playing portal without knowing anything about it was good, so much wtf? all the time.

2 also have a much better story and characters compared to the original, also much more visually stunning.

Picked up stick of truth (amongst other things) on the steam sale. Not a south park fan, but all reports were it's a good RPG. Trufax. Combat is surprisingly satisfying.

Will there be a portal 3? Or is it more likely we wait for half life 3? Hmm

I don't think we will see either in our lifetime. :-(

Bought rise of the Tomb Raider last night on steam and played a few minutes before bed. Very good looking (scrambling up a mountain) even on my tired laptop. Feel a bit rushed into following the path though and unable to explore (like I could miss some hidden treasure trove or something). The completionist in me hopes the rest of the game will be more relaxed and that this is just a prologue/walkthrough.

If you're gonna be nick picking, I'd says playing Half Life 2 would be useful to the story of Portal 1 and 2.

It's out for the PC? Awesome! Gonna get it soon, review on here seem quite positive and I sorta enjoyed the last one (sorta cause there weren't much puzzle elements like the OG).
