What ya play on? I have Borderlands on Mac but I rarely play... dont really like the cartoonish style...

i 'purchased' the first borderlands and it was just about playable on my stone age laptop and found it most lolsome. might give 2 a whirl now that i have macasaurus.
i always thought the little robot that follows you around and offers quips and pro-tips was saying 'you're not gay?' in an incredulous fashion... turns out it was saying 'you're not dead'. I had to do a lot of introspection thanks to that little tin fucker. turns out i might be.

/D3 is still doing it for me.

^^I really enjoyed that story. Not even sarcasm.

I've got a L53 Mechromancer, mainly built for chaos so sniping from a distance is a bit inaccurate.
It's all about shotguns and submachine guns, build the stacks and go in spraying a wall of lead.
I've got to the end story on the second play through, but i don't want to go to ultimate vault hunter mode until I've completed all the DLCs.I'm playing it on my macbook pro. Download is now pretty cheap as it's a bit old, but it passes the time. I use an xbox controller plugged into a usb port rather than mash my keyboard.

Also using MBP with a wired Xbox controller... works a treat... although it never saves my key bindings in L4D2 which is a fucking nightmare... anyone have any ideas? (L4D2 doesn't claim controller support).

Any guesses when the best time might be to buy a PS4 over the next 3 months or so?

Destiny is coming out in September, with a jazzy white console.
That's when I'm planning to upgrade -

I'm using an app called Joystick Mapper, which seems to be able to set the controller for loads of different default settings, and is pretty customisable too I think. I've just got it set on "standard fps", but there was a pretty good list of presets to choose from.
Might be worth a shot, it was only a couple of quid.

Just downloaded The Forest and Verdun cheapish on steam.
Verdun - good, fun WWI squad based battles. Small maps - a bit like a moveable 'Rush' map on BF4. i.e. linear map that moves back and forth as you capture and hold or defend and lose control points. Clunky movement but only an alpha I think (as most games seem to be). No real learning curve - just thrown straight into the trenches which seems apt. Barely any unlocks in terms of equipment, though if you survive with your squad intact you advance quite quickly. Quite refreshing compared to efforts from Dice. £4.99
5/10The Forest - Can see it getting very boring very quickly. Chop tree. Carry log bag to base one at a time. Repeat x 89 = log cabin. Nice idea but far too sparse. Combat uneccessary as well - though am aware they're planning a version without the horror aspect of the game. Would like just a pure survival game set in the Canadian Rockies or something without having a bunch of creepy naked mutants standing, doing a little dance and then standing somewhere else. Annoying animations too that need to complete before you can move on, a bit like Far Cry. £10
5/10Have been plugging away at assignments on BF4 PC - unlocked all the bronze ones at last. most of silvers and golds - probably around 70pc total. Then I watched an OU programme on gamification in marketing and wanted to punch myself. Might uninstall and get on with my life.
Arguments for and against completionist gaming?

For = ladies love a man than can finish.
Against = You need to spend time learning not to be a misogynist. -
• #11916
£5 for an alpha game? Studios are fucking trolling us these days.

• #11917
Dependant on the game, I bought Kerbal Space Program quite a long time ago for £20 and it's probably the best value game I've ever bought. And it's still nowhere near completion.

The Forest did look incredibly buggy though.

Ohhh.. I have that... bought it but never used it.. will give it a go... how do you use it? Are you on Mac? Can you share settings?
Edit: Found presets, I assume you have to keep this running all the time?

Started to crank my graphic settings up too now I am not on a Mac mini... wooo... its actually looking quite good.
-
• #11921
I guess it's running in the background somewhere, its on my launchpad screen but I haven't consciously used it or changed it for ages.
-
• #11922
Yep, working bloody great! Cheers for that... also turning up the graphics on L4D2 and its looking really nice, can finally see why folks always say games look better on "PC's".

Whatever you do, just don't get Sims 4.
Finally finished Borderlands 2, started a True Vault Hunter mode playthrough.
Nice starting with a lvl 32 Mechromancer, deathclaw is a fucking beast too.
Makes fighting easy, send him in whilst I snipe from a distance
