  • I ended up using Sif, (offline mode on the PC), but I think I could now. I've made a glass cannon build, usually wielding the Dark Knight Sword +5, and Tower shield + 15 but still at 25% weight for maximum dodging.

For Manus I used the Silver Knight Sword instead because you need to be able to dodge/shield quickly. Basically learn to dodge - the best times to attack him are when he strikes out with his left hand - if you block/dodge that then you get a couple of free hits.
For his spells, the moment he casts it start rolling to one side. If its the one that shoots in from the edge of the area you have time to turn around and block, but the others you (or at least I) really needed to dodge as they were 1 hit kills, every time!

  • But yeah, I think he was probably the most frustrating boss, it takes a while to get to him after each death, and then you finally learn all his physical attacks, only to get slaughtered by his new magic ones. Rinse/repeat + lots

  • Yeah it's all about the fast roll! Well that's this evening sorted then, new build, kill Manus.

  • Darks souls is killing me with regret recently when i accidentally killed the blacksmith in the undead burg just before the darkroot garden and left the chaos covenant before upgrading my flame to anywhere near decent.

    such rage.

  • Created my own reg plate with iFruit, but it's not on any of my cars in online. First World Problem.

Also I never received any free money, so fuck all your millions. HTFU

I have the opposite problem, no plate in story, I only wanted it for online anyway really so not too fussed. I did have to wait about 18 hours after using the iFruit app for the custom plate option to appear in LSC

  • and left the chaos covenant before upgrading my flame to anywhere near decent.

you don't need to be in chaos covenant to upgrade the Pyromancy Flame.

  • Dark Souls question (and feel free to lol at only just getting there now!)
What should I do before ascending to NG?

I'm kindling the fires, but its been a while since I've really looked at ascending weapons etc so any thoughts along that path would be great :)

I'd farm the black knights in the kiln for chucks (guaranteed drop). They also give you decent souls to buy anything else you need.

Also, make sure you have a fully upgraded Devine weapon - useful for killing the skelies (especially in nito's room), and also a fully upgraded ghost blade - useful for killing the ghosts. It's also worth getting the sunlight maggot if you don't have it all ready

    Blimey, well done
I've been playing for eons and am still stuck with Smaugh and Omstein. nearly got them with multi=player help but since let my subscription to xbox gold lapse can't summon help.

...Still having fun with it though.

(I also killed the guy selling stuff in undead burg. Bad call)

  • ^ah, yeah I remember them being a pain. One of the ones where it was luck (i.e. I fought exactly the same as loads of times before) which got me through. One bit of advice, kill the one you find easiest first - I was quick so it was easy to focus on Smaugh first, whilst avoiding the quick hits of Ornstein, and then it felt like slightly more of a fair duel.

TBH I would possibly still be stuck at the Golem, if I hadn't managed to get it to roll off the wall of the tower! I dodged at the same time and ended up rolling off after it but luckily the 'kill' counted!

Yeah Divine weapon was one of the things I was thinking. Ghost blade is already +4 :)
Another q. If i'm unlikely to use a boss-soul item, is it worth hanging onto anyway? Or just consume for more souls?!

  • stuck on yelleena boss on deus - ex human revolution

want to flush the control pad dwn the toliet HTH

  • Use the computers along the wall and she'll fry herself (make sure to jump). You can also tap her in the head a couple of times after she's shocked herself. It's not too bad. I still find the first boss fight the worst.

  • nice one dude +1. srsly driving me nuts

  • I badly loved Deus Ex Invisible War. Should give the other also a try..

  • yeah man played the other its good , i like walking around and chatting to all the punks =)

  • someone hacked my Guild Wars 2 account, luckily everything is still there

  • I still haven't given guild wars a go. Looks like a great game.

  • You can try it out on my account if you want. I don't like it.

  • Finally finished the GTA V story mode - became a bit of a drag at the end & the final job was so easy it was a bit of an anti-climax, still glad I finished it.

San Andreas is still the winner for best GTA story for me.

Can stay on online now & try to earn some decent cash. There's still a fair few annoying people on there.

Bit jealous I never got any cheat money - racing against people that spent loads on their super cars & got to keep them is certainly a challenge.

  • Another q. If i'm unlikely to use a boss-soul item, is it worth hanging onto anyway? Or just consume for more souls?!

I'd keep hold of them, you never know you might change your mind and want to craft a weapon, plus souls are easier to come by in ng+ as you get more per kill

  • I still haven't given guild wars a go. Looks like a great game.

I really enjoy it, there's just a lack of a real end game.

  • you don't need to be in chaos covenant to upgrade the Pyromancy Flame.

I had reached +5 accidental left the covenant and then went to see the pyromancer after he moves to blighttown. Promptly attacked me i couldnt escape so had to off him. Bad call.

  • also is there any way to ascend/improve weapons above +5 without the blacksmith? i have a +5 black knight sword and +5 drake sword which are keeping me going. The lightning spear is also proving useful. But anor londo is getting tough and i fear that as i don't seem to be able to develop divine/occult weapons shits gonna get real tough real soon!

  • Very few weapons are markedly improved by the blacksmith, you need to look at what stat bonuses they stack from and find one that suits you primary attribute. Most non-standard weapons (black night sword included) don't go past +5.

FWIW I used the black knight/silver knight swords right up until now (just got the black knight halberd), and I'm slowly slugging it out with Gwyn.

Also, are you learning to dodge/block? Because thats what keeps you alive. Anor Londo has tough, but relatively slow creatures so you should be able to avoid their attacks and wear them down if nothing else?

Is Quelaana in her spot in blight town? She'll upgrade it. If not talk to the egg dude in Quelaag's Domain - don't think you need to rejoin chaos servant for him to offer to upgrade

  • Got Space Marine for the Xbox yesterday for £4, I enjoyed the demo and it's worth it for a bit of mindless running and gunning
