You shouldn't ride at all pissed. That's how accidents happen i should now ,i smashed my hand in 17 pieces when showing my son how to do wheelies after a few beers. That was just outside my house. Blinding wheelie though. LOL

Riding drunk does not equal riding badly, just like riding sober does not equal riding well.

I cycled home really stoned once too (I rarely rarely smoke these days), and I swear I was in the most control I've ever been. Going in a line, straight as a die, checking every single junction that something wasn't coming out, looking over my shoulder at every car passing me. It was like some beautiful paranoia.
Works for driving cars too

Absolutely amazing experience
I love the fact that fester thinks that drift skidding around Rotherhithe roundabout is an essential cycling skill that is impressively maintained under drunkenness.
WIN
I've never even attempted it sober so I was pretty shocked when I thought about the fact I pulled it off so well the next day
But it's also fun.
As to whether it's best done fixed, define best.
Best = Least likely to crash

I think it is obvious what the double standard is. How can we have one thread debating and organising a response to the number of cyclist deaths due to HGV lack of attention, then have this thread seemingly celebrating the joy of riding irresponsibly.

3 glasses of wine and 3 pints of larger made for a lovely cycle home last night.

Drunk any riding is just more fun. Why do anything sober. Used to go out BMXing sloshed and I probably pulled some of most daring shit. Foxed I just get heartburn at high speeds. Still ride plenty fast enough at traffic.

Double that one...
^^ and it's a primal instinct to make booze from fermenting fruit.
