The uber weight weenie helmets come in at around 185g I think. Theres a good chance this 15g saving is at the retention system, and internal foam. I'm not sure you'll do better in terms of fit/Comfort : weight ratio than an Aeon. Wont be much different at least.
My Octal is a full 100g lighter than my Giro air attack (I did also size Down). I'm an ex rugby hooker so my neck is a trunk. But I can definitely feel the difference.

Aeros ain't much at 15mph.Yeah @Smallfurry aeon is comfortable for sure. I toured in it a few times. Shit in the rain!

Wheres Hippy With the neck tape support pic?
-

I Wonder if a more aero design would reduce strain on the neck from the air?
-
• #981
Legit thought. No idea. But a 15mph is there really much aeros?

Do you have to wear a helmet for TCR?
-
• #983
Yeah.
I also like to wear a helmet. Genuinely saved my life a few times. -

I was thinking about Wind really.

I've crashed at 12kph going up a 9% hill.
HR hits max. Eyes roll back into head. Ride into barrier. -

I could do an equation and work it out.
But from thought, the extra mass of 60g over the timeframe will be more detrimental than the force from extra wind resistance, of a few more vents. -
• #987
I don't think my hr will hit max! Or near.
But I will probably fall asleep and ride off the road. -
• #988
Done that too.
4 in the morning during a mega sportive.
Didnt actually crash. But I rode off the road onto a grass verge. Think I was out for the Count for a couple of Seconds.Actually. Saturday was my first 'normal crash' in bloody years.

How about a long tailed aero helmet and a strap ;)
-

Discussed that with someone already. It won't help.
Needs support from under neck, to remove work from muscle.
Pulling from forehead doesn't remove the work. -

Dunno.
If you really are in need of the lightest. The Limar lightweight+ is claimed to be 175g in medium.

Jazzed up a Giro Synthe for a customer this week. Never painted a helmet before. Takes bloody ages to mask off!

Should be fine... unless the owner crashes and scrapes his head along the floor. Then it will be fubar.
