That was a bloody awesome attack.

• #128
But, tmy, Cadel doesn't attack..
-
• #129
Oh, you're right. He must've thought he was chasing someone and made a mistake.

Brilliant ride by Evans, well deserved and as David Harmon said, "He has laid his ghosts to rest".
Listening to the background chatter I think Harmon thought he was off air or the mic off when he uttered "Bollocks". Priceless! His blog web site will be worth watching now.

It was setup for someone by Cancellara, Evans picked his moment to go and profited nicely
-
• #132
oh I think Harmon knew his mic was on ;) Utter lunacy of eurosport to switch away and show a cricket advert then studio twaddle then an ad break...
went to BBC red button and ignored hugh whatshisface.
so much for the GB top 20 finish...

7 DNF out of 9?? WTF happened?
-
• #134
260km is a long way - a good deal further than a lot of races - poor preparation or different season goals for our lot?

I think it went tits when Millar had a problem, Russell Downing (and others?) went back to pace him up. Looks like that hurt them badly when it sped up... and I heard Downing had pulled out.
I heard a short time later that Millar was pulling out as he didn't have the legs and didn't see a GB rider again onscreen.

From David Harmon (Eurosport commentator) on twitter 'giz a job.....'
TBH they kept that WSB/BSB commentator Jack Burnicle after he referred to the studio presenter as 'that fat twat' on an open mic..

Congrats to the whingey Aussie cunt.
Sanchez jumping cancelara on the line was harsh though.

Yes. Directed at Tony Carter - the Ginger Minja - another useless commentator!

Well, he went up in my estimation after today's outburst. He was clearly frustrated by the lack of warning of upcoming ad breaks and the fact that they were interrupting important post-race footage - which I guess is a feeling that's very familiar to all Eurosport viewers...?
Kinda ironic that he blurted that out when they hadn't actually cut to an ad though! :)

I am genuinely pleased for Cuddles, it's nice that he finally won something.
I would have liked to see him look a bit happier at the end, though. -
• #141
His celebration as he crossed the line was rubbish, but then I guess he rarely gets chance to practice it. ;-)
Great ride by him though, he got in the right break, used his head and attacked whilst the other favourites watched each other to get across to Kolobnev and Rodriguez, then stuck it to them before the final climb. Brilliantly done.

For clarity - I do not include Mr Harmon in that category!

Like this result. Well done, Cadel.

• #144
evans won did he?
can't have been anything important then, was it the Skyride?
seriously funny to see the forum Aussies getting all up about it, it's cycling, not football you disgusting racists. As long as the winner is deserved it doesn't matter where he's from.

Fuck off to the track forum RPM.
Awesome work Cadel!

• #146
eh..
my float's gone under...
time to reel him in, johnny!
so, yeah, Hippy, would you rate cadel and give him all this love if he was a kiwi, or a south african, or french? purely on the way he rides?
cycling is about supporting the exciting, brave riders. People loved cipo, pantani etc, and when soler showed some balls in the 07 tour he popped up on the radar of many fans worldwide.
I think this is jingoistic chest-beating and willy-waving..

• #147
yeah, and my green and gold willy is bigger than your red and white willy today!
i like cadel because he is consistent, gets the absolute best out of himself (usually), often without support from his team. His ride today was awesome, perfect tactics.
how about letting us enjoy the win, then?

I am looking forward to the Cadel interviews. I'm really happy for him after a really quite shitty season when he must have wondered WTF he had to do... am also wondering what he's going to post to his twitter feed :) (http://twitter.com/CadelOfficial)

2nd in the Dauphine, 3rd in the Vuelta rating as a shitty season says something.
And now he's world champion. Way to bounce back after a disappointing Tour.

Awesome ride Cadel! Fantastic attack and a fantastic result. RPM sends his congratulations.
I think I should wear my Aussie Cyclones kit now... :)
