  • Channel One in B.mth last night. D.r.e.a.d. Mikey D rocking the single deck scene, rewind , version, dropping the bass shaking the place.
next gig Brixton next weekend-check it out man, myspace channelonesoundsystem- DUB IT.

  • No they all love him, he represented the UK in the world sound clash a couple of years ago. His opponent started making comments about how he was white and shouldn't be there and the crowd started booing at the guy. Rodigan went on to win. Also he was one of those who DJs who brings new genres to countries, he started broadcasting reggae back when Bob Marley was alive, so he's got a lot of love over the years...

    fair enough like.

Anyone catch that Dub 2 Dubstep tour a couple of weeks back?

last night was part of it, tbh saw one band 'dubheart' I think? strolled through the other sounds, nothing grabbed me like Mikey D's towers of power though, some Abbyssians going on along with usual Twinkle bros in selection. were a few heads there, but bit young crowd, lot of people movin around, I like the dance when its rammed on all sides and the middle is just like a meditation dance on a psychic bass level-you dance inches away from folks but it would be useless tryin to speak to them -pure 1000s of watts of BASS only allowing non-verbal communication....

^ Love it... standing a couple inches away from the speakers is my favorite thing to do at nights, properly gets you in the mood.

Didnt know there was a night last night, will have to get down next weekend. Mikey Dread is the shit, was it with Channel one or just him?

  • Yeah i had a look at two as well, not a fan of lovers roots lol.

I love new age dub like that ^, but only when played on a soundsystem where it can properly hit you. I've always wondered what they are doing on the sound boards when the music is playing, but nothing ever changes obviously apart from the base and the treble. Do you know?

  • Thanks Jman, you too. Come and stop by and see us soon.

This morning InI was singing 'Oh what a beautiful morning' all the way to work, irie heights, full of the joy of love in my heart. Here's a little grounation for this here thread!
