  • Hi all,

I've finished my Olympic shifts until 6th August so will be in clinic as normal until then.

Actually have two free new slots tomorrow at 5pm and 7pm if needed.

    Call 0207 482 3875 to book.

  • Trackside at the BMX until Friday.

Normal work/life resumes on Monday 13th with clinics Tue pm and Thur am in Chelsea and Thur pm in Highgate.

  • Well the Velodrome was epic and the BMX was carnage. I will be at the Paralympics after this weekend until Wed 5th Sept.

Have good availability this week at both sites but after Thursday will not be in clinic again until Thursday 6th September.

  • Clinics filling up again after 2012 action. Usual hours until 4th Oct then off for a few days on leave.

Have some free slots this Thurs am in Chelsea, Highgate is currently full in the afternoon.

  • Hi all,

I'm providing Physio / Trauma cover at Muddy Hell this year and will be on site from 4pm until close for anyone who needs treatment / recovery.

  • Where in Highgate do you do physio?

  • Inside our clinic at LA Fitness on Highgate Road.

    www.complete-physio.co.uk

  • Come and say hi or pop by for pre or post race treatment at Muddy Hell tomorrow from 4pm. Track centre.

  • i think i have debris in my knee, there are times when it becomes painful and right now it can't fully bend. right now pushing off with force is uncomfortable and landing on that leg after jumping is also painful

apart from seeing my GP to try to get an arthroscopy, is there any other treatment or advice for this?

i had similar in my right knee previously, and it then tore the cartilege, so rather guessing i ought to get it looked at, but finding time for referrals right now looks problematic

any advice on how to get this resolved quickly via the nhs - or anything i can do to help move the debris out of the joint?

  • Sounds like a loose body and given your history warrants investigation. Depends largely on your local NHS. A walk in emergency clinic / sports clinic will often provide rapid access to investigations and orthopaedic input. Or you may have a lengthy wait for any meaningful treatment. There are manual ways of shifting loose bodies but this is often temporary.

No quick answer for this one I'm afraid. If you do see your GP then stress issues such as giving way and locking to raise their suspicion of an internal derangement.

  • i live in West London can you suggest an emergency clinic?

    cheers

would Charing X hospital be worth a visit?

  • Chelsea and Westminster and Charing X both good sites. I'd probably speak with your GP and stress the urgency to see what can be done. I'm not too familiar with specific NHS services in West London. Colleagues at my Chelsea clinic could assess and perform diagnostic ultrasound but this can be limited for deep intra-articular problems.

  • Ho hum sounds like the season for knees- I have had an MRI, going to see an orthopod next week...

  • I think I'm starting to get tendinitis in both my Achilles. I did a week of intensive exercise and have been doing Pilates six days out of seven for the past month and have been out on my bike. I've been trying a variety of calf stretches but itdoesn't seem to be easing at all. Every morning I wake up I can hardly walk because they feel so tight.

    Any advice or suggestions?

  • Hmmm, you may simply be over-doing it- why not take it easy for 2-4 days and see how it goes??? Have you been doing lots of walking?? Been on high heels, and recently mostly on flats?

Rest and possibly ice- paging bluerip00!

  • Don't really want to stop the exercise
    Yes to the high heels
    Yes to the walking
    Yes to the trainers

I'm meant to be upping the exercise from next week so am a bit worried. Can't go back to being a couch potato.

  • rw jenkins, 540 green st, east ham, helped immensely when had soft tissue damage to shoulder and ankle after falling from scaffolding

  • Hi Michael, hope all is well with you.

Just I thought my knee (the one that had an operation a year ago and all they did was clear up some blocked tissue etc) was getting batter, it's started playing up again, I went on a turbo trainer today, and as soon as I stood up on the bike, I felt this very sharp pain shooting up my knee, exactly the same place where the pain would come from before the surgery. Is it bad? It's also given way a few times in the past few weeks. Would the cool (ish) weather have anything to do with it? I keep meaning to make another appointment back with the surgeon but I keep forgetting... About time to pay you a way overdue visit... are you going to be around in the next couple of weeks, excepts the usual bank holidays etc??

    Cheers

  • Happy New Year to all patients old and current and friends made along the way. May 2013 bring all that you want and work for.

I am now working full-time at The London Clinic on Harley Street but continue to do self-employed work at Complete-Physio, although I am no longer at our Kentish Town site. My clinic hours are now Mon and Fri from 4-8pm inside Lomax Bespoke Health at 293 Fulham Road. I am still able to offer club discounts but the rates are higher than at Kentish Town.

Continue to email / txt / PM as needed and best wishes for the upcoming year.

    Michael.

  • Back in clinic from Fri 4th.

  • Dredge due to multiple new 'pain' threads.

I'm also now offering BikeFit Systems cleat wedging and shimming to further optimise lower limb biomechanical correction.
