  • PS: If I'm doing this I want it to be slightly productive, so Teenslain can you bring my spokecard?

(Teenslain will probably have this spokecard until he dies, because I am an unorganised mess)

  • dude, its just banter relax.

point taken, I was half-trolling myself.

  • indeed. bump. we could get loads to come down herne hill etc.

in fact have herne hill got a stand down there ?

have lfgss got a stand down there ?

what is going on boys and girls ?

No, but British Cycling have, and I assume LCC and CTC. I'll be on the BC stand (so come and say hi), and we'll be making an effort to push kids towards clubs and facilities in their area - though there's little scope for adults.

  • Looks like i'm going with my new to riding friend emma and hopefully my lovely non-nodding girlfriend lizzy.
might ride like a tit in my free skyride hiviz after putting some ultra hi-rise stem and bars + mirror on my bike....

  • sorry oliver. but that is rubbish. lcc do some good stuff but this is not accredited to them

No, it is. It was LCC Board member David Love's idea. He deserves the credit for kicking it off and feeding it straight into the GLA bloodstream.

  • . i agree olviver ltcc do a great job with new ideas.

not targetted at jc but people really don't get what cycling is about. people don't want to race. it is not abotu clubs, racing..etc. it is the fact that we haev a **serious **problem called gloabl warming therefore we must get people on bikes. it - in transport terms - is the only way to really reduce emissions. freewheel is helping that.
all the cycling specific clobs have a niche but that is always goin to be that. not mainstream. cycling is trasnport and it helps our society. if we set up a stall we might as well be skyfixedfor lonon.

  • There are lots of things that might attract people to cycling, but the most important thing is that it's fun and enjoyable.

Of course, it's not going to be the answer to all our problems, but people enjoying themselves more can only help, and it is something that is very concrete and achievable right now and not as abstract as many other good things.

Did I in some way start this self-flagellation fest? I'm ironing my hands.

  • .... or distinctive capes!

    Fixed

  • I think Mal and I will be joining the Ealing ride in.

  • Is there an official start point or is it just riding around for the hell of it? All I could find is that it starts at 10.

  • up and down the river with a loop at each end i think.
closed to cars between 10 and 4 so just pootle around whenever i guess.

The Hovis one you just joined a hub and rode in and then did the clear loop whenever.

  • Hey all... Im going to be riding this tomorrow with my cousin. His missus would love to get out and have a ride but has no bike.. she is 5 foot 3, 160 cm. mini bike required!

If anyone can help out with some wheels central/north/east i'd be greatly apprecitive. Will compensate with beer or man love.

Come to the fore, wonderful forum!

  • Why is there 2 different times for the ealing one?

There are two rides from each borough.

  • Fuck it, I'm not too hungover and there's nothing else to do - I'm going and I'll bring a nodder.

  • Im heading down for about midday with some friends (some experienced, some not so much).
Hopefully see a few of you down there, probably wear a LGFSS t-shirt to stand out from all the hi-vis that will no doubt be on display

  • Ja.. I'm about to try some new Monmouth beans and then I guess we'll be heading in.
Cue 60min of stressing about what Mal is doing behind me in the traffic..

  • think i'll go along to this as well... don't live that far, and i really shouldn't spend the day sitting on the sofa lol

  • I think Mal and I will be joining the Ealing ride in.

whens that? ive not had my meat feast pizza for breakfast yet and cant be arsed to UTFS ..some one bring me upto speed :D

  • ah 10 and 11, hmm ill take my pizza to bed and think about it

  • good reason to take the sunday best bike out if ever i heard one, just waiting for my mates to get oot

  • hael, we're probably riding straight to the feeder ride in Ravenscourt Park. I assume it will be marshalled from there on in.
