James (JJS) might be interested in this

great price on the track pro, just remember there might be problems if you decide to use any crankset other than the one it comes with.

I'd love one... if it had a different seatpost!
"Every frame comes with a cutting guide for dialing your saddle height and once cut, there are still a couple of centimeters of adjustability"
Only a couple of cm??? If you got that wrong somehow the whole frame would be screwed! Am not convinced by that....
It looks amazing though. Torn!

Hey James, what about the Fuji Track comp then. They have that on offer for £699
http://www.velodromeshop.org.uk/products/Fuji_Track_Comp_2009-565-8.html
Its the same frame as 2008 Fuji track pro (seen at HH painted black red and white)
pic of 2008 fuji pro
http://www.gearcrave.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/fuji-track-pro_msp.jpgThe 09 pro is a great deal. Pay for a professional fitting and then get the seat post cut..
Still amazing value..Tony

The simple solution is to not get it wrong. :-)

Surely you've stopped growing by now havent you James? ;-)
Hows you doing after your crash?
-
• #9
Hmmm. Maybe there is some merit in that, getting a proper fitting somewhere and having the post cut. Googling now. Any recommendations for a good fitting place?
I think i've probably stopped growing... hmmm.
@ Tom. Cheers for asking mate. Am doing okay, was only cut and bruised a bit. All healing nicely i think... Poor Conor was behind me when i went down and has a broken collarbone, elbow and thumb... so i came off pretty well really with just some track rash.

Glad your ok James. Poor Connor. Hope he is ok!

One of the British Cycling Talent Team lads decided to cut through my front wheel in the devil at Sunday's Omnium. i was sitting on the front above 2 other riders when coming into the home straight and him and another guy sprinted round. I guess we all speeded up when we saw them going and he didn't take that into account when cutting back in. Just one of those racing things....

hippy always seems to recomends http://www.thebikewhisperer.co.uk/ i think they are a bit cheaper than others mentioned as well.
-
• #14
I can only speak from experience, but a visit to Cyclefit is worth every penny in my view.
-
• #15
Not sure about their experience of fitting people specifically for track.
-
• #16
Fair point, maybe a visit to www.weonlycyclefittrackies.co.uk is in order?
-
• #17
I'm not sure that exists :-)
I asked cyclefit about a fitting a while ago. They said they would try but could not guarantee they would be the best as they usually fit for general long-ride comfort etc.
I might go down that route though!

^ I dunno those guys look really expensive! ^
-
• #19
the bike whisperer website says one fo the guys used to ride track so presumably that means they can fit track bikes....
-

What I found was cyclefit gave me the basics. For me the most important thing was saddle height and cleat / shoe interface. They also taught me a lot about core strength and position on the bike / technique, which is all very good for long distance rides and comfort.
I think I have been able to take cyclefit advice and adapt to my track bike, which is a bit different.

The thebikewhisperer gives you 2.5 hours for £95 not bad. I wouldn't mind a fitting if they do track..going to mail them now. enquiries@thebikewhisperer.co.uk

Scherrit http://www.thebikewhisperer.co.uk/ is a very experienced trackie, and knows about track fitting. He is on here, drop him a PM. Nice chap too.
Sorry to here you had a crash James, good to hear you are Ok.
Heal quick Conor (if you can hear us) :-)
-
• #23
^ I would certainly give them a call.

Sorry to hear about your crash James. Seems most of us have got off pretty lightly with mostly roadrash from our crashes this year! Heal up soon

I am emailing bikewhisperer now.
Sadly not quick enough though. Look at velodromeshop.org.uk. If you try to add bike to the basket there are no 56cm frames there?!!
So can't get that one anyway :-( but cheers for all the help. That was nearly a brilliant idea! Still quite tempted by the track comp!
New range of Fuji bikes out. Love the look of the elite.
