  • This scared me for some reason, and stuck in my mind for many years.
YouTube - Opening scene to The Quest, Frog Dreaming, The Go Kids

Hey, this was one of my favourite films as a kid! Great find. Never could remember its name.

  • Has Ulysses been mentioned yet?

Another awesome show I can never remember the name of!
You can't tell me that shit was scary?!

  • [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulysses_31[/ame]

  • 'Shoe People' fucked me up a bit, I'm sure.

  • Saw the Amityville Horror when I was about 12. Scarred for life.

I remember watching Fun Factory on Sky Channel and always weirding out seeing Ulysses 31.

I was a kid and had not even started learning English in school. So that affected things quite a lot, too. But it was cool as not too many kids could watch Blighty TV in Finland back then. If I remember it correctly.

  • In 1980 I was 8 and went to see The Empire Strikes Back and preceding it was a short film called "Black Angel" which really messed with my head.

It's never been released on video or DVD though last year the original director found what is believed to be the only print of it anywhere.

George Lucas apprently paid for it personally as a thanks to the art director of Star Wars who wanted to make a film of his own and it's become semi-mythical because no-one anywhere has seen it in 30 years since that original release.

  • An animation about furry bunny rabits, with music by that nice Art Garfunkel. Now thats going to be fine for the toddlers.

Crawls under desk, and weeps for the little bunnies

  • Saw Eraserhead when I was 10. It's embedded into my head. Unbelievable at the time. Still is.

  • 'Shoe People' fucked me up a bit, I'm sure.

My grandparents got me a pair of Mr Plod slippers for Christmas one year. I loved them. lump in throat

  • On the flip side. I bought 'Up' for the eldest, to watch during our saturday family pizza and film sesh.

Lonely child meets perfect girlfriend, who shares the same dream. They grow up, and go through life together, the dream always left to one side. Then one day, in their old age, the husband decides it is time to make the dream happen for his beloved wife. Only to see her drop dead.

    Dead.

My jaw hit the floor, at the exact time my 5yo started his hour long cry marathon.

Yeah, I blubbed up at that. If that's what it does to me at 24y.o, I dread to think what sort of long-term effects it has on the younger generation watching it...I'm guessing it'll result in a bit of ultra-violence:

  • I would advise anyone who holds a special place in their hearts for the origional Star Wars films not to watch this:

I remember that The good old days of a short before the main feature, and "if you want to smoke, please use the left hand side of the auditorium."

  • Salem's Lot? That kid tapping on the outside of the window freaked the shit out of me.

I'm re-setting the bar with this one.

When I was about seven this advert had me catatonic with terror. Ponds made me want to puke, the sight of a water filled quarry would have me howling for mummy.

    Thanks, public information films.

    Thanks a fucking lot.

    what's it about then??

I must have seen it as my dad took me to see star wars, empire strikes back and return of the jedi at leicester square when each one came out.

Fuck yeah, my grandparents had to deal with me as a screaming little toddler in the cinema with that one!

It seems so obvious these days, with film reviews before they come out and age guidance things, but not back then.

  • Threads?

The thing where Sheffield got nuked. I seem to remember they made us watch it at school.
We had RAF Fairford and RAF Brize Norton both within a few miles, so everyone knew we were doomed if it all kicked off.
