The ferrets is well cold. Runny nose by the time you hit the other side...

Wrap your nostrils up warm

I've been stung by this a bit recently, the ride to the ferry is miserable affair and it doesn't get any nicer on the other side. There is a twitter feed with updates that is worth checking:

Update: just spoke to someone at Greenwich Council. Currently open but closing at 9pm every night for works.

Cheers for that, despite living half a mile away I couldn't be arsed to go and check opening times.

You're welcome, want to use it tonight so thought I'd better check, be prepared, dib dib dib dob dob dob and all that.

• #36
Are you sure?

Foot tunnel closes everynight at 9pm except saturday night me thinks
-

Sometimes they close it early, caught me a few times.

Went through last night at about 1945. Got off and walked like a good boy. Some nice flutin' in there from a young Jethro Tull-like hipster too.

3/4s through the foot tunnel tonight I hear a cyclist behind me crash. He was about 1/4 through. He shouts to some guy "did you do that?" the guy (a bit bigger than him from what I could see) says "there are signs everywhere saying no cycling"
They jostled a bit until I left the tunnel. It was quite a way from me but made me think - poor guy. Anyone else heard of this happening.
I am totally unsure how and what happened other than what I have wrote.

Nobody heard of any trouble in the tunnel?
-
• #42
Yeah I've seen some. I'm all for cycling through the tunnel, but just don't be a dick around pedestrians.
I've had a few people try and block me even though I was scooting my bike past them. It never worked though.

Perfect for me to go and visit the re-opening of Goddards Pie & Mash shop in Greenwich tomorrow.

It's been great this week - been able to run down the stairs without being stuck behind some wanker cyclist teetering down on his cleats who doesn't want to let anyone past for 8 whole flights of stairs.
-

It's a foot tunnel, not a fucking triathletes training course. I've had the pleasure of holding up a fair number of mouthbreathers when walking down the stairs in cleats. I suppose you barge past the pedestrians and tourists too?

Woolwich foot lift has finally re-opened! The small winnings living in east...
-
• #48
On that note, I'm glad the barriers have been removed from the foot tunnel. Bloody stupid idea. I think they might even be thinking of letting people cycle through soon.

• #49
Which one? Greenwich, Woolwich, or both?

Ha I used it at 8am...
Easiest job out there being a Greenwich or Woolwich lift attendant. Sit there on the phone or read a book. If you get board you can go and work on the que for the ferry and watch the cars and lorries back up on to the roundabout and along the Woolwich road, only when the entire area is at grid lock do yo uhave to bother consider using the massive quing system / car park.
