Today's session was well good!
Tuesdays 4/5pm is absolutely certain for me, wednesdays aren't so great though.
Weekend depends, but can usualy do saturdays/sundays 3-5pm or 10-12am.If we can get a set time/day we can advertise it at cranks, at uni and in shops and get more people involved.

Polo sesh today was pretty rad. It didn't look promising when we rang Matt's housemate, waking her up and finding out she wasn't in! got the mallets in the end and had a good time messing around and learning the basics.
The 4 people who showed are well up for keeping the Sunday session going now and we're gonna get on making some more mallets.
I'd be up for a midweek session aswell but the Sunday works for us.
Glad it all worked out in the end, I would have loved to have come but I was feeling soooooo ill, as you might have been able to tell from the phone conversation! I work most weekends, although there is some flexibility there, but I am in for a weekday game.
Oh and about making some more mallets, Matt and I saw some piping that looked perfect on Upper Lewes Road where the roadworks are, I will see if I can scavenge some on my way home!

My mate Josh does a surveying degree so he's gonna try and source some too. Cedywedy has gold clubs or we could keep an eye out on ebay.
I reckon we need a polo session tomorrow or Wed followed by beers and mallet construction.
Who's in?

wednesday sounds like a good plan.

Hello there, i'm no polo player (never tried) but I am interested to see how it all works. I was going to come down on sunday to see a bit played and meet some other riders, but couldnt in the end (mothers day)! I see that you are after mallets? I dont know how you make them, but from what I have seen it looks to be fairly easy, so if you need any help, then....
Hopefully I will be able to catch you guys the next time you are playing.
If I dont manage to catch you at preston park then where/when do you usually go for beers? -

wednesday sounds like a good plan.
You're on. Shall we start early to get as much sun as possible, say 4pm?
-
• #384
No sign of interest from work on Wednesday for me so I think it's gonna be polo time!
4pm's good.
Yes, I has a gold club... lol
Ebay: no point you'll pay way more in postage. The best bet for golf clubs are charity shops or the little old man next to clocktower cameras, I got mine from him for 80p.
Rach: Sorry we woke you up, and no I couldn't quite understand all the words you said but we got there eventually :)
Highlights: epic grass race across the track, helping a grumpy old man push his 1914 moped, Bike shop's neighbors raving at 1pm, someone coming up with "track polo"...
What a Sunday! result was very little uni work done :( -

Doesn't sportsworld, that massive cheap sports shop on north road, do really cheap golf clubs? I'm sure we could get like Donnay ones for £3 or something.
I can't make this Wednesday I'm afraid, I've got uni 'til 6, if you need the mallets and ball again let me know. You have my number, and I've got my voice back now...sort of.

Well this is sick.
I'll be down tomorrow to crack skulls.
I've got three mallets which are usable.
Has anyone got andy's number? I would really like my ball back. -

Also, I know for certain the the polo team representing Brighton will be Me and Matt +1.
I'm pretty sure Nick is in on it but I ain't got a confirmation yet.
We'll see. -
• #390
So far we've got:
1.Idealstandard +2 (although we might have a cracked fork issue with 1)
- Cedywedy
- Thom Bird
- Teew
So if both of my other mates make it down we can have a cheeky 3 on 3.
Surely the only democratic way to decide who represents Brighton is our own mini tournament!
Also, if anyone has a 130mm BB spare it would mean I could get my polo bike working for tomorrow!

The London contingent is planning a road trip.

Nah, we ain't technically repping brighton It's just that we're the only team here. Me, Matt and Nick are a team on paper, technically. Next time we need to be getting two teams up there!
I mean, similarly, I've shelled out £25 on the team entry sooooooo I'm gonna be going, regardless of how shit I am at polo. It's all about the beers anyway.Sorry for not coming today, fucked up again.
Next week. Promise. I'll bring a bbq and some meat if the weather's good. -
• #397
I might also be in brighton for the 3rd April
Also i'm with Toby on this, everyone had a chance to form a team for the UK champs, he decided to enter one, so he can put whoever he likes on that team, I'm still going to kick his arse regardless... -
