nimbhus, at some stage I wrote that I had been educated in America. None of my primary or secondary education was in this country. Though I have lived here as an adult, I left as a very small child, and I still use terms not indigenous to this country.

I am certainly fat (and unfathomably proud of this affliction). Thats almost very astute of you. You are also right, that I am certainly lacking the sharp wit and insightfulness of BMMF (for example) - I can't deny that, as it is the easily recognisable truth. But should the day come when my brain function were measured against yours, I think I would do pretty well. I may not be the most intelligent person around, but I doubt that I am "thick". I presume I find myself rather intelligent actually, but if you disagree, then thats fair.

As for being a "twat", if that's the best you could do, it was hardly worth your effort. I had almost missed your barbs. Not quite yet though. Tragically for you, I am comfortable with your dislike and disdain. Its your perogative, and in truth, I do quite enjoy it.

I only got to know people on here and I don't mind the banter, but the Interthingy makes it very easy to misinterpret and misunderstand each other and I really don't want to step into the scene when it starts to crumble :-)

Sorry if anyone (me included) might seem hard on you, but the effort VB puts into creating, maintaining and improving this forum is huge. I think its fair if reasonable people like yourself allocate part of your advertising budget to VB if you think it might be a positive move, and may gain you new customers.

Well, as long as it's not within the cycling threads per se, there's no harm.
People called me a twat and a count, because they didn't like the way how I criticised Scott's bags and they didn't get the chuckle when I posted a picture of myself wearing a tie and some white brogues and so fucking what? I don't take the offence. It's the Internet, innit? It means fcuk all. Little nerds behind their wireless keyboards are equalled to the gangsta merkers, because their better with their words. It's all fun.

As for censoring and the general motion, that the forum is going down, there's a Copernicus/Milton law which applies to the internet even more then to the culture and economy.

Anyone who cares about the Forum and the community that has developed because of it should do their best to keep it a classy, fun and informative place.
