I disagree (I think that should be obvious by now) . . . the headline (and subhead) is pretty explicit:

Was there any increase in car use amongst those opting out of tube travel?
If so, it would make sense to write: "*The 7/7 London bombings may have resulted in a “second wave” of casualties on the roads as people switched from the tube to travelling by car, psychiatrists believe"
*A whole bunch of car drivers unused to travelling in London during the rush hour could result in the deaths of assorted other commuters/locals, including cyclists.
Without wishing to insult the intelligence of the Telegraph's readership, it may just be possible that many of them will infer that the cyclists wouldn't have died if they hadn't switched to a bike, rather than the cyclists wouldn't have died if someone hadn't switched to a car which then hit the cyclist or was implicit in causing an HGV to hit a cyclist.
I think the ambiguous causation argument is a valid one.

I am using that for the commute, however I am trying to upgrade to WWII weaponry in an effort to keep up with the times.
Where is this feral bicycle hideout ... sounds like fun.
