  • Sainsbury's expensive! weeps a tear

  • expensive? £6 for 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 side plates and 4 mugs! £7 for 3 pots and a frying pan!

  • Rich fucker.

  • It is still fondly remembered by the more senior members of the forum... Kind of like how old people refer to "the war"...

    Repped...

I didn't budget at all at uni - I just worked my arse off. A word of advice - only do a Master's if you're prepared for the crippling debt that'll follow you for the next 10 years.

I got a letter from the Student Loans Company today confirming I'd paid off my undergraduate loan - now it's time to start paying the MSc. I'm just shy of 29... FML?

Not quite mooks, think of all the poor fools at uni now, who have debts twice as big as your undergraduate debt. Most may never finish paying it off.

velolibre - if you're getting that much from your parents, why bother with the student loan? I'm in a similar boat (replace parents with grandparents) and I'm getting by fine without any help from the government.

Also, don't budget like that, it makes life boring. You'll have more disposable income as a student than you will have for quite some time.

because if i didn't get the student loan i'd have -£400 pound to spend in a year?

  • ah well. lucky my grandad worked for ICI. puffs cigar

What are you doing? A BA or Bsc or what?

  • None of your business!

Lets just say, one of us is studying something worthwhile.

    And it's not me.

Or if you need to study that far to have a career, i.e. Architecture, Medicine etc...even then (well Architecture-wise) the wages aren't that amazing...looking forward to the debt though...

  • When I was a student, I didn't have a budget. I pounced the drinks and drugs. And once a week I knocked my parents doors to make my mum sorry for me, so she gave some fresh produce to consume...

  • if the lessons are in french, as, i can't talk it that well.

    You're struggling with English TBH.

You've got some pussy in-between degrees over here. Just enough to keep mum and dad happy and keep the cheques coming :-) I've hand only choice of a Master Degree. And we still had PE for the first year!

Funding is available for post-graduate research degrees.

bah, i would rather have gone straight into a 4 year masters but wanted to do each 50/50 and live in london, and possibly go abroad, so kings was the only one that offered all that.
