No rush, buddy, I'm just in the middle of a customising, er, Jag... Many thanks!
Waiting to hear from a local guy about installing a pick-up under the tremolo for sexy behind the bridge sonics... I'll be using the controls on the top horn to turn the magic on and off, etc...

Man I feel inadequate when we get into pedal chat. I’ve only got a superoverdrive and a Dunlop wah, neither of which have been used in years.
Occasionally I do get a hankering to put something together but the options are so overwhelming these days, I know it’d end up as a six month rabbit hole.

I'm probably considering similar instruments, but considerably further away from hobgoblin so please let us/me know how you get on!

Awesome, thanks for posting that, I always find it interesting to see what people like to use.
I have too many delay pedals as I love using them on synths and drum machines and they’re often stereo. Have you tried a dual delay instead of two separate delays? I guess it depends what you’re doing (or not doing) with tap tempo/syncing.
The Boss waza analogue delay is really nice sounding and the custom mode adds quite a lot of extra delay time. In terms of digital there are so many good options but they’re expensive... Eventide Time Factor is a great dual modulated delay that does lots of different styles... Strymon Timeline and El Cap... Meris Polymoon is nuts (multitap+phaser stuff)... Strymon DIG has an amazing 12-bit vintage mode that sounds really sweet.

Where's Bleek? Shall I just order it anyway?

Been noodling on old ZZ Top tunes again with the ex-Rickster ARC Effects Klone into the Champ... god I love my rig at the moment. Is pickups breaking in a thing? I wasn't kind of lukewarm on the Duncan Antiquities in my Tele at first but I bloody love them now. Love them, love that Klone and love (natch) the Champ. Can't put the guitar down.

I can't watch TPS anymore either. Not so much the playing (although it is annoying) I cannot stand the....
...gaps in Dan's speech as he constantly finds himself stuck for...
...words.
And don't get me started on that fucking honker.
Plus the sweaty red faced one has little piggy eyes and terrible taste in footwear.

After years of acoustic only, I'm finally ready to start picking up the electric.
I've always wanted a telecaster or a gretcsh with a bigsby. What's the general feeling on the sweet spot in terms of performance / value for an intermediate like me?
Looking at about £900 tops with a practice size amp. (Probably a Crush 12).

My board’s changed a bit since last time (apart from the Broadcast, it’s going nowhere). I can’t seem to manage playing a guitar without the Timmy on at the moment, but I probably should.

Vintera is the new name for vintage MIM stuff isn’t it? And ‘player’ the standard MIM?
That tele looks fantastic, as does the new roadworn series.
I think the correct pre-Covid answer would be ‘go and play some in budget in a shop’ but if that’s not an option, I’d be pretty confident in a used MIM or MIJ being a solid choice. -

Yes that sort of thing, but I have a real hatred of sunburst.
There is also a nice green one on that site though...

New strings.
Turns out my fingers have forgotten how to play the mandolin.

Somewhat different to a tele - they’re more of a Gibson style and actually kind of close to the Gretsch 6128, ie mahogany with maple top, humbuckers etc - but these are really nice guitars IMO. There’s also a filtertron style version around the same money in a few colours and a black one with P90s.

I like the look of that Vintera Tele in white blonde, I'm biased though, my Tele is either white blonde or honey blonde and (fun fact) it had a Bigsby installed once upon a time (not by me), and removed (also not by me), so it has some really ugly filled holes in the body behind the bridge.

Finished building my 12-string. Holy crap, it’s been a learning experience. But I’m really happy with it.

Awesome! Loads of nice design choices (colour, shape, hardware). Great work. Would love to hear it.

That's a lovely looking mandolin! How did you come by it - is it as old as it looks?

Thanks! I probably spent far too long obsessing over the design, but I think it paid off. I’ll definitely be recording a quick demo over the next few days, and I’ll drop it here.

So during lockdown I’ve bought an acoustic guitar. Can anyone recommend any tutorials that are easy to follow, idiot proof preferably

The Fender Play stuff is really good, from the little of it that I’ve seen. There are loads of free alternatives on YouTube, however, so I’m sure someone can recommend one.

this chap offers some solid advice for beginners. basic open chord shapes, tips and tricks when swapping between chords and easy to follow exercises - you could do a lot worse if you can get past his questionable musical taste.
is he british or an aussie? hard to tell.

I’ll take a look. I’m picking up a guitar from kings lynn this week. I’d like to give it a solid go and learn the basics
I found the bar itself in my case but not yet the collar it attaches to - which is the important bit really. If you can give me till the weekend I'll go through my music box and see if it's in there.
