I don't mind some of them, but this is possibly the worst thing I've ever seen. Fender Deluxe 72 (a wonderful guitar) takes on the Les Paul Black Beauty (another wonderful guitar) and makes the following:

I've been trying to get this lot to play (and fit) nicely together. They sound pretty good, just trying to get them nicely arranged on a board.

Yeah, I've been totally geeking out on Paul Gilbert's back catalogue so I got it really on his recommendation. It does sound nice. I got it because I really don't like the overdrive/fuzz/distortion sounds on the Zoom, but I'm keeping it for reverb, delay etc.

I watched that video too... 🤓
Looks like a fun psyche setup, drop a few shrooms and wig out...

The JHS guy featured it on his TC Electronics thing the other day...

Can anyone recommend a nice murky analogue delay, or an all in one that contains a nice murky analogue delay? Smaller the better.

I’ve got a Keeley Caverns going, if you’re interested? Analogue delay and combined reverb.

How much?

Hmm. They’re £179 new, and I’ve got it listed on FBM for £130. Forum discount, how about £100 posted? It’s unmarked.

Looks like fun. Overlaps a bit too much with other stuff on my board at the moment though.

Ooh that is tempting - I'm a sucker for spring verb and tremolo. I was after something a bit murkier and lo-fi BBE-ish but will give this some serious thought. Extra reverb is always nice.

Thank you. I know where all the mistakes are, so I see it in a slightly different light. Enjoying it a lot though.

Strat wise a really helpful guy round the corner is setting is up for me and sorting the bridge/tuning problem out. Suspect problem was being caused by one of the springs

Dragging a conversation in from the watch thread:
The stainless steel plectrum is a bit of a prop, I don't use it that often and it was just sitting on the coffee table...
I love the sound of metal plectrums. I tried a few steel and aluminium ones, which all first wore to a knife edge then developed a ragged dangerous burr. Now I use a coin milled to shape; the extra thickness took some getting used to, but very pleased overall.

I used a two pence piece as a young man, didn't like all the metal bits over the scratchplate tho'... Sounded pretty good, all about the treble...

Ha, I'd forgotten about using 2ps at first! I've still got one which a schoolfriend pressed for purpose.

I've finally decided to go custom order!
I've been playing for 20 years and I've owned lots of nice high end instruments but never anything custom built!
I've started selling off some bits to fund this, had been planning to get either the Epiphone Thunderbird or a Fender Player Precision but I realised I could get something really special custom made for relatively not a terrible lot more in the grander scheme of things so my track bike is gone and I've a few guitars that were gathering dust that are currently advertised!
I'm rather excited about this :)

Wiring question:
I've wired up a strat copy, but the sound coming out when I plug it in is quite quiet. I can turn it up at the amp and it's loud enough, but if I touch the pickup against the string (the scratch plate is not yet fully screwed down) it sound is super loud, and I suspect, actually how it's meant to sound. Does this sound like an earthing problem? I have the ground going to the underside of the bridge (it's a hard tail), does that seem right?
When I was in the Fender market a few years back, I wanted a rosewood strat with white body and black board. Did they have one? No. So that Lead III is pretty tasty!
Got my tele instead, and very happy I am.
