Anyone know where I can buy single small sized hex keys without having to buy the whole set. I have boxes of the fucking things but seem to have lost the tiny ones needed for bridge saddle height adjustment. Need metric and imperial. 1.5mm and o.050 I believe.

Does anyone have a fret end dressing file (with the 2 smooth, untoothed sides) that I could borrow?

That's pretty!....I was listening to Earthless for a minute the other eve and was a touch nostalgic for some heavy riffery. I've completely forgotten the earth moving feel of big amps.

Yeah man. I've not played a big amp in years. My old band used to rehearse at Survival in Acton and all the rooms had JCM800 or 900 half stacks in them. They were pretty beaten-up and would behave in wildly different ways and half the time it was a pain to wrestle a decent tone out of them. I ended up thinking of them as shit rehearsal room amps. If you get a a good one working properly though they can be majestic.

You're probably sorted now, but I bought some knobs for my Tele from eBay and they came with a spare hey key. Spare knobs and new hex key, win-win.

Yep, bought a nifty micro screwdriver set with a bunch of tiny Allen key heads. Ta though!

Been sorting out power supplies for the board today. Also just picked up a EH Small Stone phaser for £35. Roll on Monday!

New mini battery powered board for the Les Paul/JCM900 rig... Eighty dollar used TU3, fifty dollar used DS1, new hundred dollar Nano +... Just bought a cheap Boss Super Feedbacker and Distortion on Reverb and I'm picking up a sixty dollar TC Electronics Echobrain and some used Lava Tightrope plugs tomorrow... Then we're done!!
Drummer has got RSI, can't rehearse until the new year... Bah!

Did you guys see those tone modelling Deluxe Reverbs and Twin Reverbs by Fender? I'd really like something like that if it sounded good - leave the vintage valve amps out there for the guys actually gigging - but nearly a grand for a solid state is a mickey take in my opinion. Once they start hitting the sub £400 mark I'm going to take another look.

I know a few people who have gone the Fractal/Kemper route, haven't heard about those Fenders... I'm an old fart, I love valve amps, couldn't live without them...

I hear you. I couldn't personally go down the Fractal / Kemper route, I play with my eyes too much, and for someone like that these amps look perfect:
Modelling amps always miss a certain something but there's definitely a bit of me that has had my interest piqued.

You can buy the real thing used, (a valve-driven Deluxe Reverb re-issue), for the same money as one of those. That’s what I’d be doing.

I've heard really great things about the Boss Katana though...

€499 on Thomann right now. Did not need to be buying another guitar before Christmas :(

Oof. I like that.

Very nice. Lou Barlow was playing one of those on the recent Sebadoh tour, in addition to his usual Gretsch.

New mini board sounds a bit shit... 😥
Really struggling to get the DS-1 to not sound like poo, delay is okay but everything else just sounds a bit underwhelming... And I've lost my settings on the JCM900, was sounding great before I started fucking around with it! 🤦♂️
Hopefully the Super Feedbacker will tie the whole thing together when it arrives tomorrow...

That’s weird. Bad cable somewhere?
-
• #7621
I probably just need to be more scientific about this... DS-1 does sound shit tho', even when I'm using it properly!!!
Cables are all great...

Fuzz > Drive > Distortion
Just ditch the DS-1.
-
• #7623
I do have a spare fuzz AND I have the space for it on this board... You might be right...
-
• #7624
Yeah I’m not too scientifically minded about pedal stuff. All I know is germanium fuzz first, then drive, then distortion then modulation and delay. Managed to get this up and running for tonight with two of the Harley Benton power supplies stuffed underneath. Sounding pretty good!

Need some more decent patch cables tho. EDIT: found some in a drawer!
From certain angles there is a bit of flame on this, not much, but a tiny bit... Just been playing this through the SL-X on super low gain settings and it is phenomenal... It feels like I've got my chops back even tho' I haven't been playing that much recently... Fingers, balls and guts pushing in the same direction... I need to play out loud...
