  • Get in! Great colour man love it.

  • JCM800s seem to vary big time. I had a 50w, 2x12 master volume combo years and it was killer. Bought it from a dude in St Reatham who had two and the other one was shite. They had them at the Westbourne rehearsal studios too and their’s were a bit mixed.

  • Oof! V. nice

  • Currently noodling on a MIM tele I’ve borrowed off a mate. It’a got vintage shop pickups and has been set up incredibly nicely. First maple neck I’ve spent any time with and I really like it. I should buy it off him really but I still covet one of the butterscotch 52 re-issues with the nitro finish. I’ve not had a new guitar in 20 yrs so it’s kinda overdue....

  • What a tasteful setup... Lovely...

  • Troubles with strings hopping off or buzzing?

Both! My guitar guy said it was likely to be the threads on the very cheap bridges that Fender use now, they kept collapsing... I expect heavy strings would've made it worse...

  • Is he selling then?

  • It’s a bit boring really! I slipped into the simple guitar > amp vibe a while back and have been digging the clean feel. Not mad about that little Vox but it is a good looking item. I think the 5w valve amps lack a little fat - might just be the speaker.

I really fancy a blackface bandmaster but they’ve got more spendy recently and I don’t really need the volume!

@Sparky Yeah he probably would - he’s got FAR too many and never plays this one.

  • Let us know a price! :)

  • I've heard the AC4C1-12 and that sounds terrific for a small amp, I think the bigger speaker makes all the difference... To my ears, Vox amps are thinner sounding than Fenders anyway...

  • After 6-months of housing flux I've finally been able to get my bass stuff out of storage (and got my hi-fi back) - such a good feeling to be back on the bass! I'm sure my new neighbors are thrilled too...

  • Holy hell that’s a cool rig. Do you play out with it?

  • Nice!

Just had a near miss on a $100 Melos amp top delay unit, SO CHEAP!!!

I was first in, best dressed but the guy got a cash pickup buyer down where he is in Melbourne... Not that gutted but a little bit gutted... Ok, I'm gutted...

I've gotta pay out over $1k on guitar repairs this month and also try and buy plane tickets to see some of you cunts in the summer so it's probably just as well...

  • Only once with that amp (when I was driving there alone) - sounded great when giving it full beans!

The cabs and the bass have seen a lot of action though - just used to take a battered old Warwick head when everyone's stuff was rattling about in the back together.

Moved away from the band now though but will see if I can find another one once I've got a few other things settled first.

  • I accidentally bought another guitar before I sold my other (probably superfluous) spare guitar.

It looks like an absolute beauty though.

  • Colour on that P-bass is ace - what is it?

  • Pix or STFU... 😙

  • Tidepool blue at a guess

  • Fuxake. I went to the shop to play a few Sigmas, to try and choose which I might buy for my first small-or-medium body acoustic. I thought to myself ‘while I’m here, I might as well have a wee strum on a Martin, see what the real thing is like’. Big mistake. I’m going to dream about that thing tonight, it was the nicest, prettiest, sweetest-sounding instrument I’ve ever held, and a Sigma isn’t going to cut it now. Gah!

  • I really need to sell the other guitar though, or I'm in a world of trouble.

It's listed for sale everywhere I've heard of but no takers so far.

  • I don’t always look on reverb for strat’s i’m Not gonna buy, but when I do, I look at this one:
2008 Fender USA American Special Honey Blonde Nitro Stratocaster Rosewood neck guitar

  • Don’t remember HW1’s being that expensive when they came out. I got it in my head that I wanted one when they came out in around 2002 I think but the first uk shipments was delayed and I had cash burning a hole in my pocket. Waited a month or two then dropped 700 on a 2001 USA tele in Andy’s instead. Still really like the spec on the HW1’s tho...
