"three p90s through a wide panel fender - in the hands of bb king? have mercy! the up-close crowd, the stylin' suit and the bermuda shorts are merely additional reminders that we can be cool, but we can never be *this *cool."

I love my Gretsch.
Unfortunately I can't take it to uni though because of insurance issues/too much sentimental value to keep in my student house. Reckon I'm going to get a fender strat to fill the electric void this year, or maybe an Ibanez artcore, does anyone play either of these, good/bad experience?
I've got a strat, and, amongst others, a Washburn hollow body (not as nice as your G, but still). If I were you I'd get the strat; it complements the G very well, and you have a foundations of a great stable right there.

Im thinking of rocking this look, as in Shorts, leather shoes (brogues or bowling shoes) and socks pulled up high.
Is it too much hipster? I wear wayfarer specs too.

Alright kids, was hoping for a bit of advice. I've got a switchable 2x100w MatAmp guitar head (seperate EQs per channel) which I've not used for a while and I need to get it fixed and sold.
Any advice on where to take it in London? (I used to use John Kelly but the fucker appears to've bypassed one of the valves the last time he repaired it. Not good.)

weird that he seems to be coming a bit of a celebrity these days (judging my the clients and pictures on his gaudy website). i'll always picture him in his hot dusty little cupboard behind andy's shop, shirtless, paunchy, roll up dropping ash and grunting monsylabically as he fixed my home made esquire with what seemed like a single stab of a soldering iron.
the brazillian guy who works form the basement underneath rockers is very good too. forgotten his name but he's sorted me out more than once.

Thanks. Is he good with valve amp repairs? Didn't see anything on the site about amps.

Can anyone recommend a good mid range guitar for fingerpicking?
Ive been using a big old grand auditorium for years and I fancy upgrading to something a bit more suitable. -

yep he's fixed a few of mine. he seems to be concentrating on making fancy pants guitars now though so maybe give him a call first. he'd still be my first port of call.

I know this is cheeky, but I have a few guitar items on eBay at the moment which might be of interest, particularly this 60s Kay valve amp: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230542379673&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

I might be on my own here, but I reckon this is about the best guitar playing around at the moment.
