  • NO worries... You should really buy a PRS while you're at it ;)

  • Be warned, they're not cheap (anymore)! £100+... Gone are the days of picking up exotic fuzz pedals for 10p at the local jumble... :(

  • And +1 to Pipeline in the bedroom! I've been meaning to pick up a Watkins Copicat for a while, great things... :)

Dude stop it! i'm quite hungover and rant prone today. We've already had words regarding your woeful taste in guitars and i don't want to have to tell you again.

I can't bring myself to insert a winky smiley thing but you know... smiley winky smile smile.

    urgh.

    I feel dirty.

  • eh? you playing stadiums in the 80s now? what's with the stacks feller?

    bought this yesterday btw.

decided against the tweakabilty of the big one or the £200 price tag of the super duper one. sounds great to me on spring with a bit of tremolo and slapback.

the "flerb" setting is beyond useless though.

  • Hmm! I've got a bigger one than that with exactly the same tweaks. Might explain why it was cheap... bet the paint on the nano still scuffs off like a dream though!

Agreed on flerb. No-one with a brain likes flanger.

  • I need to play more bass. I'd like to start a band. And I don't mean one where we sit around drinking beer and arguing about music, but an actual gigging band.

    I play this:

    Ah hello fellow Bassman!

I am playing zis at ze moment.

    Excuse the mobile pic.
Sounds hella good for a Squire i must say.

Hoping to get a band together also when i move up to leeds in a week :-S

Edit oh and im also a 'Retarded sound guy' in training to quote dooks ;-)

  • ha. sweet looking bass.

not all sounds guys are retarded or deaf.

    just most of them.

  • Want to get nerdy? One of my own creations....

Also, you London chaps. Who is it who owns all of Denmark Street now? It's one of the major shops but I can't remember who...

  • That's very pretty, I've always wanted a 7-string acoustic or archtop, are you a luthier or just make for your own enjoyment? Website?

  • www.darkmatterguitars.com (which is waaayyy due for an update)

Trained luthier, currently spend the majority of my time modifying/setting up guitars from my workshop built on to the side of the house.

  • Very nice indeed, reminds me somewhat of Maingard guitars from South Africa... I've started to go away from the bigger bodied acoustics, your 000 looks really nice indeed, I've got one of these as my main acoustic at the moment...

  • @jammy: wow that's a mad looking thing. what's with the fanned frets/nut?

    ergonomics only then. cool.

really like that lefty tele with the strat neck, humbuckers and amp knobs. very cool

  • I think there's a sort of improvement in intonation when you have more strings aswell... Look at the length of a bass neck/ space of frets compared to a guitar... When you have an instrument that's using guitar and bass strings like on a Novax then there will obviously be a difference in note spaces between the strings...

Maybe not the best explanation of it but you know what I mean...

    Novax Guitars

  • it's interesting how ergonomics and projectile vomit incucingly ugly can go hand in hand isn't it?

  • True that!

  • Closer to ideal scale length for each string...

The lower strings have a longer scale length (in my case that low B is up to about 29") which gives a thunderous piano-like sound. Whereas the treble strings sit on a shorter scale length providing the warmth of tone required.
I wouldn't say ergonomics come in to in on as an extreme a fan as mine, it's actually a little harder to play. But the benefits in tone/string balance makes it worthwhile!

  • Epic win. What a beauty!

The only thing that irks me about that guitar is the straight line which the strings end at in the tailpiece. If that curved to match the edge of the ebony it would be perfect

awesome. got any clips of it being played?

  • I agree, D'Aquisto's are the goods though, $32,000 for that one there, I met a 16 year old kid who had one once but boy could he play it!
