Has anyone played one of these new fangled 1watt tube amps. Like the little combo from blackstar or mini stack from blackheart?
Can anyone comment on how loud they are? and what its like being limited to such little in terms of controls? (This is also true for Orange tiny terror and such).

Just the 1 watters? I have the Blackheart Little Giant half-stack (3/5 watts switchable) I can tell you about if you like?

Well, I was specifically curious about the 1 watters. The blackheart killer ant is technically only about half a watt! Ive have a Orange crush 15watt transistor amp which is about right volume-wise for what I need. But it being a tranny amp, it sucks for dynamics and controllability of the sound. Its pretty much fuzz or nothing.
I ideally wanted one of these 5-10watt fancy little recording tube combo's. But there is Black heart 1 watt killer ant on ebay. Which is close for me to pick up and around half new cost. So seriously considering it. But none of the music shops near me have any of these tiny amps. I have no idea what they sound/play like.

Haven't played one, sorry but the Little Giant is a great little amp IMHO so I wouldn't be shy about trying other Black Heart stuff.

I have found a German Schaller Les Paul. The body is in pretty good nick.( Except some strange person has drilled some extra holes in it).
One of the pickups and the wiring is missing.
Im thinking of turning it fixing it up as a project guitar. Never done this sort of thing before so could do with some advice (or point me in the right direction).
I want to buy a pair of p90's, and a new wiring/pot kit for it. How do I go about finding the right stuff ?

Yeah i saw those two vids ages ago. I decided against the killer ant in the end. But I will almost definitely be getting a VHT special 6 combo soon.
If anyone has some advice on what I need to wire up my les paul + p90 project, please advise!
fanx.

Lets see you use that for bedroom recording mister...
I managed to learn some, myself about my pickup wiring.
Looks like I need 500k pots, .022 caps. and to wire it like this:

I was confused about how P90's were held in, but I figured that out too. There are two holes right through the centre of the pick up, you just put screws straight through into the guitar body. Seems real simple.

Where do you gig that requires one of those running at more than 3 at the master volume? Nice but fecking loud!

]SPINhouse Live: Anna Calvi, "Rider to the Sea" - YouTube[/url]I have a Lab Series (Gibson/Norlin) amp that would murder that tone.
They can be had for peanuts but are regarded as some of the best solid state amps ever made. People like BB king swore by em.

I don't, I just got an amazing deal on it, swapped it with a guy for my G&L Legacy Strat. Wouldn't mind trading it for a 30Watt if I could but I actually may have a use for it soon.

Hi guys, I'm looking to improve my electric guitar skills and was wondering is anyone can recommend any good and not too expensive teachers in the Angel/Holloway area? I mainly play generic rock - so anything from Jimi or Led Zep to the likes of Muse or the White Stripes.

Just play along with your favourite records, it's the best way to learn... You'll develop your ear better this way, never seen the point of guitar teachers unless you're a little kid... YouTube lessons maybe?

Just PM'd you my GF phone number. She's in Islington and teaches electric guitar and more. Unlike TS I think a little guidance can keep you focussed and create a structure for quicker learning with tips and shortcuts that would take much longer otherwise. Just like cycle training:)
