I'm looking at peterson tuners.
I want a strobe tuner for accuracy. I'd like to be able to set my electrics intonation with it too, could I get away with a clip on? I have (bundled) software tuners too.
Do I need a fancy clip on tuner or a cheapo one will be fine for my 'coostic.
Looking to be able to record in the future so I'm just getting all my gear up to date and moderately decent.Any one have any experience with Jam Origin Midi Guitar 2?

It’s for a friend, he’s gone for Aztec Gold. It’ll have gold foil humbuckers and an aluminium neck, going to be a bit wild.
That Thinline FSR is pretty cool, the blocks’n’binding neck is fun.

The Les Paul I bought at Christmas that got lost in the post finally showed up six months later...
What fun :(

Oooft, that sucks. Did you get a replacement/refund at the time?

How's it that broken when the case looks fine?!?!?
-
• #12832
I’m guessing it was sent with the strings tensioned. A moderate knock in transit, not necessarily enough to mark the case, can cause the neck (of a Gibson…) to break. It happened to my mate’s SG when the seller posted it to him. This is why you loosen the strings of a Gibson if you’re posting it.

Most likely... irritatingly it was Gibson themselves who shipped it as I purchased it from their European Demo Shop...
More irritatingly the amount it was insured for is only about half of what it would cost to replace it six months on with the increase in values and the fact that I'd gotten such a bloody good deal on it...
Even more irritatingly Gibson Demo Shop wouldn't ship it to Ireland so I had it shipped to my mate in Paris who forwarded it on to me so no way of telling when it was damaged in transit and I don't reckon I'll have any success chasing them up six months on so going to have to hope La Poste dish out the measly insurance claim and I can get it repaired...

Oh my... that's absolutely stunning! Congratulations!

My SG also arrived from Gibson with the strings fully tensioned.

That looks lovely, grats.

Thought this was good practice for any guitar? Especially internationally/overseas.
My pet hate is reviewers complaining the guitar isn't in tune right out the box, like why the hell would it be!?!?!

Nice one! Thanks for the tip dude!

Fucking ouch. That’s painful.
At least the break looks to be quite a shallow angle and should be an easy repair.

I really hope you get something back for this, you must be gutted.
That's a familiar repair to any luthier, but obviously it's not going to be new again - sorry to see the pictures.

Mate, this is stunning.

Ah bugger, another thing I have to buy.
In other news, No Need To Argue (cranberries) works even better with the Big Muff than organ setting on my keyboard. Just need to trade in the wife for a woman who can sing without a taste of brummie leaking through :-) (Definitely doesn’t rock with my cracked wine and fags voice).
I’m loving this foray into electric.

Yeah the Polytune clip-on is very good. I keep it in strobe mode and while I’m sure it’s not as accurate as a more expensive Peterson strobe, it seems pretty damned sensitive to me.

Mighty Mite don’t ship to the UK. Have fallen into a Strat neck mire

Damn. Warmoth would build you something similar, but I suspect it’d cost a bit more.

Big vote for Warmoth here. I've been really happy with mine. Haven't touched the frets or the truss rod and it plays fantastically. I'm sure there's some luck involved there, but it was worth the money in my opinion. Their customer service sorted me out very fairly because of a Thing after I received the neck too.

Try Guitar Build, I've not bought from them but I know SC Relics use them for their bodies and necks...
They won't do a Fender headstock but you could easily enough shape one yourself if it's a must have, they have some nice original headstock shapes too...

Yeah I'm hoping I get full of insurance which would be €1000 (I paid €1300 and flippantly said to my mate to stick a grand on it when he was posting it) and my trusted local shop has estimated €300-400 without having seen it...
I am a little bit tempted to try and DIY it, the gluing bit is obviously easy but backstrapping will likely be a good challenge for a first time...
Nice, what colour is it going to be?
Saw this the other day and thought it looked quite cool, bound neck, block markers and humbuckers.
