  • TBH I got used to that people spell my name in one million different ways. so Im not too bothered about that, but thanks for taking up the role, and telling people whats what!

And CAKES AND BISCUITS of course, otherwise how the fuck are you gonna ever drop me on a bike Mr?

FFS, I say nice things and correct the spelling of your name and you start bleeting on like and old fishwife and spell my name wrong..... last time I try and big you up little man!

    ;0)

    Cake or Biscuits?

  • I forgot to mention Evans in Kingston, everyone seems to slag them off but the staff have always been nice to me. I went in to get some spokes cut for my polo bike, only needed to replace 3 but they but me 6 so I'd have some spares for free.

Needed some help fitting a threadless headset as i only had minimal tools, they fixed it and gave me some free headset spacers.

needed help removing a bb cup on a ancient frame that I couldn't get out, they managed to remove it, again for free.

    Cheers guys!

  • otherwise how the fuck are you gonna ever drop me on a bike Mr?

:cough: last time we rode on the way back from St Albans :cough:

    Gary is my witness :blowsraspberry:

  • I chop steerers off like a Ninja!

All sorted, I did it myself in the end. I do need to pop in and get a steerer tube cut in the next couple of weeks though.

  • A big thank you to LMNH for some superb service yesterday evening. My beater rides like a new bike after they resolved a thorny little problem with it. Brilliant value and service.

  • They managed to sort out your carbon fibre Parlee with full super record groupset and whatnot? good going.

  • Excellent service from USE. I found that a part on the USE seatpost on my s/h Paddy Wagon was broken, I phoned them to find out where I could get a replacement and they just posted it to me.

    That's great customer service.

No Ed, that is still a glimmer in my eye.

They managed to sort ot the angle of the saddle on my Tour de Vuille beater which was complicated by the saddle being rather old and of a design that no one had seen before which explained why I had been incapable of resolving it and had been riding around falling forwards all the time only maintaining my balance by pushing back against the handlebars.

  • PUSH at Newington Green. Great service, friendly and good value.

  • It's a bit out of the way, but Phil's Bike Company is always a favourite

Called two days ago, booked bike in for a full service, dropped it off at 9am just went and picked it up.

New cables, break pads, chain and freewheel, wheels trued and everything looking shiney and new!

    £75 all in!!

Result, not out of the way for me, didn't even know this shop existed. @drew87, have you had much experience of Elmy's?

Afraid not. I haven't even heard of it

  • A big thank you to the guys at Wheelmen & Co. and Tokyo Fixed Gear.

I bought a Hip Bag from them and the belt loop frayed a little bit so they sent me a new one no problem!

Don't know if any of the guys Tokyo Fixed are on here but the people at Wheelmen & Co. wanted me to let you know it was all sorted, it's going to be a while before I can pop in.

  • Lovely fellows in Bike Magic in Whitechapel - I went in there just to get a bolt for a brake cable and they helped me sort out my brakes for free. Thanks guys!

  • Fitzrovia Cycles, every time

  • London Bicycle Workshop did a great job of truing my rear wheel after my coming together with a van this morning.

I came in to collect and pay my £15 and it turned out they had tuned my derailleur too as they knew I was out for a long one tomorrow.

I knew that I was skipping a gear but to be honest I'm really quite embarrassed that it was as bad as you said it was!

    Thanks for the extra effort...

  • Thank you Hope, had a broken battery case on my Hope Vision 1, emailed, got a reply the next day and one arrived on my doorstep this morning.

A massive difference to Madison, who basically didn't want to know about my broken light & motion stellar 150, even tho I asked about an out of warranty repair - which I was willing to pay for.

  • Re-strap.co.uk

I ordered some re-straps for the Brompton a little while ago, after a week I still hadn't received them and was beginning to get a bit suspicious, especially as the contact email was a hotmail address.
I needn't have worried, I got a nice email from Nathan at Re-strap apologising for the delay (due to the website accidently going up before they had stock) and that he would throw a free lock holster in to say sorry.
Both received the other day, very happy.

    Thanks Nathan!

  • ^now that's good customer service.

  • so im stuck in holborn, late to pick up my son with no money, when the guy from evans (who's sussed whats happend and knows im skint as ive already exclamed how lucky it was that i only had a fiver when buying the new tube) walks out the shop with a tube and some rim tape, hands it to me and says "dont worry mate, sort us out next week"

so, tony at evans in holborn, i salut you! and there will be a JD and coke coming your way tonight.

  • Brixton cycles again, for having everything and being lovely.

  • Gotta give a shout out for Push Cycles today. I sheared my BB spindle off turning into Boleyn Road, and they let me in despite being closed, said that they'd try to replace the BB for the next morning, and phoned me within the hour to let me know it was done! Really appreciate it.

  • Dr O'Shea at Evans in the Cut....still wondering what he a doctor of??

  • I need to take my bike in for a proper service, re greasing, sort my brakes, front wheel needs truing etc. but I would rather go somewhere that has a good reputation. I live in Bethnal Green so there are loads of shops nearby but I have no idea which are good and which are not so good. Are there any suggestions please!

  • Great customer service from biketart.com (I used there ebay store)

I bought a 9 speed quick link on thursday- Package arrived the next day but it was a 7 speed q/l instead. Little miffed, E-mailed them, asked for a refund as I needed one for sunday and would go to a shop and get one in person. They E-mailed me straight away and offered to send me one special delivery so it arrived on saturday - They didn't even want me to send the old 7 speed one back. Plus haribo and Maoam chucked in.

Great service especially considering it was an item worth £1.50 - Mistakes happen but it's the way they are dealt with that counts.

On a related note - I'm finding some smaller ebay stores are much quicker at dispatching stuff than the usual suspects - I've had orders sitting with CRC and wiggle that won't be dispatched for 2-3 days.

  • one armed bloke in evans victoria who hooked me up with an emergency bar plug this morning. you're a good'un!
