I have a birthday shindig to attend on the Friday night, though I've already made it clear to those involved that I can't get wankered... I should be at the Mudlark at 1pm (if the Mudlark is where we end up going).

Have a great time, see you at the next one
-
• #1154
John, we'll definitely be doing more herfs. We'll see you at the next one and feel free to suggest a date here.

Tomorrow's herf
Weather is looking a bit dodgy. Nothing to keep us from doing the herf, but we need to have a covered area, ideally enclosed to protect against wind just in case we get a passing shower. Unless there is a better suggestion, I say we go with Jamie's pub.
1pm @ Mudlark
SE1 9DAI think everyone has my number but I'll send a PM round to those who have confirmed or likely to come.
Also, I'm going to be putting in an order for beads. If anyone is interested in picking some up and splitting shipping costs, talk to me tomorrow.

Come on chaps, how did it go?

It went well. I had a good time and enjoyed seeing Jamie, Niall, Phil and Alex. The pub is a nice find; the garden is well sheltered and they had a good range of ales on tap. Good food too.
I lit 5 cigars but only smoked three. I had an ERdM Demi Tasse first which was quite nice. Then a RyJ Hermoso No. 2 (2004 EL) which was disappointing and got pitched after a few minutes. After that was the Cohiba Maduro Secreto which was fantastic and they 2007 EL Trinidad Ingenio which was in a sick period and got pitched. Final cigar was a San Cristobal Fuerza which ended things on a good note.
I also drank uncountable pints of Ashdown.

Cohiba sounds lovely,
I only have two Siglo VI's left -

My humidor is looking very bare these days.
Need to stock up a bit, might get some samplers to pad it out.
Curse this good weather! Haha -

Anyone know anything about these? Any good?

Prices are stupid, but I'm sure they could be got for cheaper elsewhere...

I like the look of the Titans
-
• #1162
Not heard of them before, looks good.
Those titans do look good. Short, strong smoke -
• #1163
did we order beads yet ? my little box is fluctuating like mad. I can get 66% or 78%, trying to get down to 70 is a bitch

Has anyone tried one of these?

I reckon, get your hands on them before they disappear forever....discontinued in 2002 due to the scarcity of the gold foil.
James Suckling said these were one of his favourite smokes right now!

Jamie, if you wanted to split a box of macanudo I'm game (depending on how much cheaper they can be found for)
-
• #1166
Hmm those Bolivar Golds look good. Might have to nip to that store tonight and pick up a few.

Any plans for a group buy any time soon?
I'm about to buy some, but might save half my budget for group buy if there is one? -
• #1168
No plans from me, buddy. I'm not going to buy anything for a while I don't think...
-
• #1169
Im going to have to sort out meeting up with you J, my weekends are rammed untill mid july so unlikely to make the next herf either :/
-
• #1170
Cool. We can hook up mid-week at some point if that's easier. I'm away from the 22nd-30th of July, but other than that I'm around... Let me know when you're available.

Any dates for a herf in line? I'm solid for June.
Maybe 10/July? -

Hi guys,
My Cuban connection has brought me a couple of lovely looking boxes of cigars.
Both Romeo y Julieta, I have 25 Mille Fleurs (box dated Jul 2010) and 25 Belicosos (box dated May 2009).I'll be offering some of these for sale. Can't give you a price yet as I don't know how much he paid, but it will be a considerable saving off UK prices.
As with the Montes that he brought back last time I cannot offer any guarantees about their provenance, but the boxes, seals, etc look absolutely pukka. They even have the new seals with holograms on them, and Cohiba shop prices and barcodes on the bottom ($62.50 for the Mille Fleurs and $160 for the Belicosos).
I've not seen a R&J band in a while but they look genuine enough too, with the embossing lining up perfectly with the printing and the colours are good. The cigars themselves look to be superb quality, good colour, consistency, etc. I think they are probably genuine, but even if they are not completely kosher they will almost certainly offer a really good smoke.

Sweet, I'm looking to stock up so put me down for some if your splitting (say 10 mf and 5 beli?)
-
• #1174
Nice one BQ! Will definitely take some off you
-
• #1175
Would definitely be up for a selection myself 5 of each ? :)
I will definitely be at the pub at 1pm. Bearing in mind that any of these places will get busy, it's best if I'm not there all by my lonesome trying to stake out sufficient tables and chairs. If anybody else can get there round that time, it would be appreciated.
