@kattiep - how fast can you pedal a bike that has minimal resistance for 20-25 seconds? If you can average a cadence in excess of 200rpm, you're fast.

I have no idea? I think my legs are built more for hills rather than super quick resistance free revs? I've never done a spin class, but I sure can pass a few odd sods on the roads!

no. just can just race by yourself because you are special greasy.

I've go myself a partner, she's never been on a fixed before... but she likes dressing up - so i thought one of two categories would do..the lanterne rouge is all ours.

to test cadence...just come on a tuesday night ride and see how easily you can keep up!! i think the next one in essex so it should be fun.

Count how many times your pedal goes around in 10 seconds. Multiply by 6 = estimated cadence.

Or, just ride the rollers in the comp. Job done!

some gym bikes do have cadence on them, yes. you should be able to work out maximum, and average for a given distance.

with the Rollapaluza gearing, 22.7 seconds for 500 metres is around 200 rpm average, which means you may be maxing at 220+
