The Rubble owns all other bikes. Speak ill of the Rubble at your own peril. The Rubble takes not prisoners, merely crushes bodies. The Rubble is not of this world. The Rubble wants not peace.

There was so much that I missed out, even allowing that I considered touring bikes and cargo bikes in addition to those I mentioned. Discounting things with more than one seat, or some number of wheels other than two,
1: Race sprint bike
2: Race pursuit bike

5: Winter road bike
6: Road race bike
7: Road TT bike
8: CX bike
9: Second CX bike for swaps
10: XC Race MTB
11: XC Training MTB
12: Full-Sus enduro bike
13: SS MTB
14: Dirt jump bike
15: BMX race bike
16: BMX jump bike
17: 20" trials bike
18: 26" trials bike
19: Freeride bike
20: DH race bike
21: BSX/4X bike
22: shopping bike, probably a flat bar porteur
23: touring bike (expedition)
24: touring bike (audax)
25: recumbulent
26: polo bike
27: some sort of cargo bike
28: grass track bike
29: speedway bike
30: fixed road bike
31: cycle-ball bike
32: acrobatic bike
33: stayer bike
34: 6-day/madison bike
35: fixed TT bike
36: hill climb bike (fixed)
37: hill climb bike (geared)
38: spring classics bike
39: medium gear fixed TT bike
40: "Old Skool" legal TT bike
41: roller racing bike
42: NJS keirin bike, but only if you qualifyThat's the basic practical necessities covered, after that you're really just adding things which replicate function in more aesthetically pleasing ways.

C'mon Mitre, you can squeeze out at least another 5 for bmxers, one for flatland, one for vert riding, one for dirt trail jumping, one for street and one for skatepark
-
• #62
bikes are for riding, so as many as you actually use.....any more and you are just a collector and may as well satisfy your hoarding desires with stamps or thimbles or summink.

I would love to buy a cargo bike to share amoungst our neighbors on Shacklewell Lane. There are two major bike houses, and a cheap cargo bike (Kona) is one about 600, I think.

I'm not enough of an expert to know how many truly different BMX bikes there are, but I had a race bike and a dirt jump bike at 15 & 16, and naively assumed I could ride street/skate park/half pipe on the dirt jump bike, although I had toyed with a separate entry for flatland. I'm surprised that nobody has insisted on adding a 29er to the collection yet.

I knew it was time to move when I needed to climb over the carbon Litespeed to get in the bath.

yes! they are pretty cheap right now at £500-550, bargain for an utility bicycle.
look like a great alternative to the Surly and the Xtracycles.

Really you also missed of and Audax bike for those long training rides and Audax events, and a touring bike for the summer holidays.

Theres a handyman company in north london that runs a fleet of these with awesome mounted toolboxes and racks for carrying pipe/coving etc. Can't remember what the firm is called but its a nice concept. They're always locked with fag chains and d's so the boss clearly knows the score.
I want one.

Because they are pointless.
Another solution to a problem that never existed. -
