If you add it up using your prices, it actually comes to £720 :p
And then
- £50 Hipster tax (doesn't exist)
- £32 Sapim double butted spokes
- £30 extra on rims (anodised dp18's are £45 each in 14)
- £15 extra on chainset (£105 from 14)
- £10 extra on the pedals/straps (£20 each from 14)
- £5 extra on the chain
Cost price is now £762
And you're forgetting bb, headset, seatpost an powdercoating, which would easily add £100...If you don't like it, fair enough, but you should probably get facts straight before slagging people

@Dov – I no sell da Favorits, I just adds up the prices...
And on that note...
have yellow dust caps!
Ah! A sure sign of Conti inner tubes. Add another £10 to what it cost to build.
-
• #43
nope.

That's as maybe, but hardly the point. Even if you bought the parts at your prices (excluding the rims, I haven't seen anodised deep v/dp18's for £30 each and assuming you want some spokes) it still adds up to over £750.
Fair enough people don't like it. Personally think it's the '£750, no offers' which has got people's backs up.

£31k to you sir, and you'd need to pick it up from Germany:
http://www.agriaffaires.co.uk/used/farm-tractor/987572/fendt-716-vario.htmlIf you can stretch to £58k the 930 is much more like it, nearly twice the horsepower and looks much cooler:
http://www.tractorpool.co.uk/details/Tractors/Fendt-Favorit-930-Vario-TMS-TI/1204476Please note these price are fixed.

£2.50 each from Parker's = £5 a bike.

Why would anyone sell their favorite bike?
To buy another I guess.
-
• #48
I get it. Trying to sell that on here for £750 is obviously going to result in the above abuse. But he's clearly a new user who doesn't know that. It is expensive to build a new bike, even from mediorcre components. Sano's right, the price is fairly accurate.
What butters failed to realise is that everything sold on the forum is done so at a largely reduced price. That's just the way it is. Purely bargain based shoppers up in this muthafucker!
So butters, if you want that sort of cash - which in my opinion you are entitled to - you need to ebay the fucker! -

At the risk of this all getting pedantic and silly, those prices are for mountain bike tubes. And you have to add delivery. Unless you want to buy £50 worth of mountain bike tubes, in which case delivery is free. Of course, you've then got 20 tubes that you can't use in your 700c wheels.

@Giz - You obviously forgot the following
Sapim x-ray spokes - £90
DT prolock nipples - £20
Grease for installing parts from the vaginas of virgins - £60
Time spent building - 2 hours at £20 per/hour - £40
Interest not generated on money spent on investment - £6.23Add 10% to all prices as the bits were bought at Brick Lane Blaggercycles
Seems a fair price to me. I offer the full amount*
*paid in kind of course
You paying with grease from your vagina then?
Favourit also made tractors:
So did Lamborghini. But this ain't no Lambo.
