Yeah that was one of the shorter videos. I imagine a lot of them have music over the top as the sound of the ends hitting together gets pretty annoying pretty quick. Or the people shouting fuck everytime they smash their knuckles.

Maybe they're not terrified if they think they have the means to deal with whatever life throws at them. Maybe USonians are not terrified in general as fewer than 10% of adults have a concealed carry permit.

I always find this bit the most amusing. I guess you can just about conceive of a scenario where you may need a gun for self defence but I'm not sure of what the scenario is where they're picturing themselves needing the second magazine.

It's easy to carry a reload, you might as well. Yes, it's a tiny probability that it will help even among the tiny probability that you'll ever actually draw your gun, but it's such a low incremental cost that once you've decided to carry, it would be pointless not to go the extra mile.

Psychology, not ballistics. They might be wrong to think that carrying is an actual benefit, but if it makes them feel safe then they are not terrified.

I always remember a post on that tumbler type site where someone included a BB gun.

It was so lovely watching the commentators try and work out how to navigate the explanations around why using a BB gun as a prop in your curation wasn't cool, but a real gun was.
